Hey all. I thought I had finished my 2F swap into my '67 until tonight. Motor is in and runs. However when I put it in gear (forward or reverse). I get no action. No clucking sound to tell me its in gear either. I reused my F flywheel since the new motor did not come with one. Clutch looked to still have some meat on it. I am thinking I need to either remove the transmission to double check the clutch or set fire to the damn thing. It has to be something small I overlooked, just can't think of it.....Ideas?

I bet if you adjust the clutch slave it'll start clucking like it's laying an egg.

Did you remove the clutch disk?

If the clutch disk is installed backwards, the truck will not move.

Ask me how I know. :bang:

HMMM...The clutch disc in backwards may be the culprit. I did not mark which side faced what direction when I removed it.

Transfer is not engaged.

I will try adjusting the slave.

Looks like I will have to order a clutch kit on the just in case side. If going to remove the whole thing might as well put in new parts.

Ask ME how Bailey knows.....

If the disk is in backwards the clutch will never release which doesnt seem to be his issue.

I will have to try and adjust the slave cylinder. Never done before...Search....I did not unhook any of the linkages...Damn thing just will not go into gear.

Have you looked at the shift lever on the side of the transfer case - the one that engages HI to LOW; is it in the neutral position?

A hearty thanks to all replies. Turns out it was a simple transfer case lever. It was dark and did not notice it had been engaged during the install. Probably the engine hoist I used to hold the transmission. I am greatly humbled by this experience and re-enforces always check the basics first. Thanks
