anyone know of a shop or mechanic within 30 miles of Summit NJ who is a LC or FJ40 expert // or who at least has good mechanical experience and expertise regarding repairs / adjustment of a stock OEM restoration?

I don't but am in the midst of a resto and mod on my 72 FJ. I brought more parts, equipment, and tools than the cost of the truck so far and am in the 3rd year honeymoon of work. I best get going as the wife will divorce me on the 5th year if I don't start the build-up after a total tear down.
I was hoping to find an engine builder but they all seem to be south or west of us.
if not, I will rebuild the 1F engine with electric fan, power steering, and air con.

I am in Woodbridge Township, NJ and can give you some pointers if you want to wrench.

Locally by me in Fairfield the only place that I would trust is Fisher Auto Transmission. They have been around for ages and work on older vehicles, but not specifically land cruisers. It's the only place that I've outsourced any work that I didn't have the time or drive to do myself.

There was a specialist over in Belleville but I think they closed down.

Good luck! I'm far from an expert but if you need any advice or a second set of eyes on something let me know.
