History
This was a 2-owner, clean CarFax car before I purchased it in October 2019. ***I am not sure if the incident this past fall will make it to the CarFax, but I can provide pictures of the damage done at the prospective owner's request***. I’m a bit particular, and after being disappointed time after time by seeing lower mileage, rustbucket versions of these trucks, I was convinced my head master-tech at my local Lexus dealership that thorough maintenance records and no rust were far more important than “low mileage” when it came to making my final purchase decision. I was also dead set on a non-KDSS, post-facelift truck with the updated infotainment system/interior/exterior trim, etc.

I searched for a few months before finding the best maintained, most reasonably priced (I wasn’t interested in $20k plus, sub-100k mile cars that hadn’t had timing belt services done), least rusted GX I could with no accidents/paintwork, that had been garaged kept its whole life. The second I saw this example at a dealership an hour or so away, I knew I had to jump all over it.

Prior to my ownership, the truck was maintained meticulously by Wilkie Lexus in Haverford, PA for the first 95,000 miles by the original owner (I have all the original Lexus service records). I do not have any records from the second owner between 95,000-138,000 miles, but the timing belt service was completed at 96,510 per the sticker under the hood, and the PPI I had done at Haldeman Lexus of Princeton didn’t uncover anything aside from the truck needing new tires and brakes.

The truck has never been modified, and to the best of my knowledge, has only been taken offroad once (by me, on Shafer Trail from Canyonlands, NP to Moab). I’ve put almost 30,000 miles on my GX (including almost 11,000 miles across the country and back mid-pandemic during the summer of 2020), and it’s truly been the perfect adventure vehicle.

The minor incident in October 2021 was 100% cosmetic, 0% mechanical (it didn't even need an alignment), and resulted in damage to the front bumper cover and FR fender. Since the FL headlight was scratched and the FL fog light was cracked, and the bumper was being replaced, I took the opportunity to jazz up the front end a bit with some sport package headlights and fog lights.

Condition
Mechanically, the truck is in fairly impeccable condition. It drives flawlessly, rides flawlessly, shifts flawlessly, and I can confidently state it has mechanical 0 issues. It was gone over with a fine tooth comb with no expenses spared to bring it up to spec and to dial in the truck in, maintenance-wise, immediately after purchase. During my ownership, I’ve been overly cautious with any maintenance/preventative maintenance. The air suspension has been addressed within the past 4 months, the dreaded brake master cylinder assembly has been replaced, the majority of the wheel bearings have been sorted. I’m fully confident this GX will last for hundreds of thousands of more miles.

The interior is absolutely fantastic, save for the ever so slight evidence of your standard used car wear and tear on high touch points (namely just the steering wheel and driver’s seat). It’s never been smoked in, no pets, etc. The pictures speak for themselves.

The truck’s exterior looks incredible, and is the absolute perfect color combination of Nautical Blue with Graphite wheels and Dark Grey interior. I completely paint corrected the truck upon taking ownership and have maintained it since. The paint is original (***aside from a new front left fender and bumper after the Oct. 2021 love-tap) with no rust or defects, and based on my experience, I can confidently state that it has been garage kept for the majority of its life. That said, it is a 165k+ mile, 13-year-old truck that has spent time on the highway. It has some stone chips, a couple small touched up scratches, a couple of love taps on the rear bumper, as well as some standard used car imperfections. The wheels, unlike many of these trucks, are in fairly pristine condition, and the tires have plenty of tread left/no bubbles, etc. Compared to literally every other GX I looked at back in 2019, this thing was heads and shoulders above the rest, and it’s only been more dialed in during my ownership.

I saw some downright scary undercarriage rust on GX’s during my search back in 2019. While this truck has spent its whole life in the northeast, it was relatively rust/corrosion-free before I purchased it, and has gotten only slightly more noticeable over the past 2 years (namely a little discoloration on the tow hitch). I can most likely snap some pictures on a lift if need be.

The only issues of note are related to the AC system. I suspect there’s a small leak as it was recharged back in April, and it’s beginning to lose its charge. I’m not interested in chasing that ghost, and it is being sold as is.

Notes
The reason I’m selling is that my life circumstances changed over the past year and a half or so, and while I do love the idea of the perfect adventure vehicle, I simply no longer need the GX. I come from the Audi world and miss having a sportier DD. I’m not interested in any trades, and I won’t accept any lowball offers. You can absolutely find a cheaper GX than this, but I can guarantee you that it will rear some ugly skeletons sooner than later that’ll most likely double your out of pocket cost of ownership. Ask me how I know.
  • The truck will come with both sets of keys, the OE trunk carpet mat, but not the AudiSport all weather floor mats :)
  • I’m not sure why this GX is an ’08 with pre-facelift tail lights, but I’d assume it was a matter of preference for one of the previous owners.
  • The only modification to speak of is a custom set of driver’s seat real extenders. They will not be sold with the truck.

Price
$18,500 OBO. I have the title in hand. The truck is located in Morristown, NJ, but I’m willing to ship at your expense. I'm not looking for any trades.
