I ran the L's for a few years with OME 860s. You'll neen to capture the spring regardless of which one you choose.

N74L
Man a Fre extended links
Swapped out hardware to fit 100 Series
Fabbed my own spring retainer
Lowered bump stops 1"

Worked fine for me. I recently upgraded to the ICON CDC shocks which are the same length, but are a major improvement performance wise. To be fair, I had probably 30k miles on the OME's and never had one problem. I only have maybe 100 miles offroad with the new setup.

I have been running a standard OME lift for 8 years, 100K plus miles and my front shocks have started to leak and wear out. I am looking to replace all of my shocks and upgrade to 60071L's for the rear. I have read this thread and a few others. I plan to get the Man a Fre extended links. I need help with the spring retainer and bump stops. Do you have a parts list, pictures etc. of what you used? Also, I have read of some doing make-shift hardware store brake line bracket extensions. Any experience or recommendations on how best to handle the brake line extension (fork out the $ and buy extended brake lines?).

Thanks in advance!

I just built my own spring retainer and fabbed 1" blocks for lowering the bumpstops. "Fabbed" is a fancy word for "I went to my buddy's shop and grabbed some 1" square tubing off the scrap pile and cut off a few pieces, drilled some holes and bolted it into place." The bolts and flat steel for the retainer are Home Depot specials. I heated up the flat steel and bent it into shape. I probably have $8 in the entire thing.

The spring retainer came from a very detailed drawing that @bluecruiser and I consider to be one of the finest advancements in 100 series knowledge ever created. I was able to just relocate and bend the brake line brackets just a bit to avoid the lines being overstretched. The 80 series Man A Fre extended links were a must.

You’re welcome. I don’t often share my engineering sketches.

Thanks for the reply! I agree that is a very scientific and detailed sketch, ha! This is helpful and I should be able to scrape something similar together. I am surprised only bending the brake line brackets is enough for the extra travel.

Cheers!

Do you guys have any pictures of the rear brake line bracket extension work you performed? I have also checked other threads researching SS brake lines with no luck finding 'off-the-shelf' solutions for the rear axle main brake line. I take any brake line work very seriously and don't want to just 'try' something...I am approaching the brake lines with an added sense of caution and planning.

Any help would be great!

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

No pictures of it, but what I did was remove the bracket that held the main to the frame, then "fabricate" an extension to lower it a bit, then reattach bracket to that extension. I guarantee it was not pretty, but I get your desire to get it right. Sorry, I do not have anything better to share.

I didn't have to relocate the bracket. I was able to bend it enough that it gave it enough space. Someone with more knowledge will have to chime in on whether the bracket was placed differently on model years. Mine was a 2004. @bluecruiser 's was a 99.
