The owner actually pulled the ad down because he isn't 100% sure he wants to sell it, and he was getting a lot of spam.
I checked it out, and it's very, very nice. The owner is the second, and he said his wife doesn't like driving it so they're downsizing. It didn't have sliders or skids, but the bumpers (rear bumper is the ARB style that you cannot add a swingout to), winch and rack are nice and in good shape. It drove pretty well - could probably use an alignment and it had a couple things sliding around in storage bins, so it was hard to tell if there were rattles or there just junk not secured. I only drove it a few blocks because we met downtown during rush hour, so there was no place to really test it out.
Overall I'd say I liked it a lot...however for another $10k or less I could get a slightly used 2016 with all the updates and tech and safety gizmos. The other issue is that I would want to/have to sell my Porsche Macan to pay for this one since it's private party (no he doesn't want to trade, I asked

), and that means I'd lose out on a massive tax break by selling my car then paying full tax on a $60k vehicle where my tax rate is nearly 8%. The Macan is paid off and has a trade in value around $55-59k, so it would be a very easy transaction to trade into a dealer. If you consider the lost tax advantage being able to trade in, that means this 2014 is only about $6k cheaper than what I could get a 2016 for. The biggest difference would be the 2016 has no mods, but the main ones I would be after weren't actually on this one (even though they were very nice). I'd probably throw on skids, sliders, drawers and fridge and be done with it until the OEM bumpers were too smashed to function well. I'm definitely still thinking about it, and I'll take in my car to a local Audi dealer tomorrow to see how much they would buy it from me for since it's nearly winter and in high demand right now.
