Watched videos years ago where a guy converted his lawnmower to woodgas. Rather clunky setup but interesting. I've wanted to build a gassifying stove or fire ring for years...just out of curiosity.



On another note,
Looks like someone's import cruiser is going to be late arriving...

Biggest thing we worried about sailing offshore was hitting one of these damn things at night.

The Canadian Coast Guard has issued warnings to vessels to be careful navigating waters to the west of the Strait of Juan de Fuca after 40 shipping containers went overboard in rough seas.

So what do they do, let em drift around until they sink? Pathetic there is no recovery mechanism
in place. I’d bet there are thousands of these things littering the ocean.

Seems that way. I remember being in nz and a ship dumped about 60 of them in a storm between there and fiji.

Made night watches kinda stressful, because you will never see one before you hit it, but you just have to be fatalistic about it.

It's a big ocean, similar odds to winning a lottery to hitting one.
