That was done on purpose cause America had no defense for the German durables that floated around the world to drop the odd
middle of the night bomb undetected. There were discouraging its use. ----------

And if you believe that, I've got another 847 conspiracy theories I dug up out the interweb.
I used to enjoy a good conspiracy theory.

Last few years tho... with the antivax idiots and the Q people who will apparently believe anything

I work with a guy into that s***. He forgot to log out of the computer a while back. The pages that were loaded on screen when I turned it on....sweet heyzoos these people are ****ing nuts.

GOOD NEWS!!
I ordered an alternator from an offroad place in Australia. It's a whopping 120A for my 12HT, for my new soon to arrive
giant off road lights. It arrived in Vancouver customs at 2:00 am. 12 hrs later it clears Customs!! 12 hrs, has to be some
kind of new record. Amazing. I don't know exactly what it weighs, but shipping was $98 Aus. Australia Post. Pretty
reasonable.

What’s wrong with brakes that would need a computer involved in them? Why should there ever not be power assist? KISS

Seen this and thought of you standing on your 40 brakes :D

1100 kg over the rear axle, and 100% of the drivetrain weight fully behind the front axle, does keep all the wheels on the ground… although I’ve felt it get very light in the tail end. With 4 wheel discs, wheel lock is minimized… however, under very heavy braking the rears will lock (likely because 50%+ of the weight is off the rear wheels.

I have found a sharp/quick jab with two fingers will lock all 4 discs on dry pavement at 30 mph. I believe that’s because the fronts lock before there’s time for the weight to shift forward… and with the fronts skidding, there’s no way the rears can suddenly stop a 4700 lb 40 with limited front input.

My last motor bike would do that… somewhat startling… especially the first time.

Actually some fairly reasonably priced stuff on there (by today's standards!) Neat.

Two miles from my house! I’m in Oklahoma.
bit disconcerting. Teri says multiple horse trailers have been evacuating. The turkey farm is up there. Gotta be 10000 birds in that place. I’m just gonna sit here and try to be optimistic

They revised the position and have given it boundaries now. Seems to be pushing away from the developed areas which is positive. The new pinpoint for the fire is off Bush Creek now. That’s a positive thing, the Bush Creek Falls are a beautiful walk, and scenic. That logging spur is dead end. Been hard to access in a few years now. Only quads and dirt bikes in there. I hauled a bunch of cool blasted granite out of there a few years ago with my dad. But they blocked and gated the s*** out of it in the last few years after that LNG tank farm went in. Maybe if the whole mountain wasn’t a slash pile, had actual trees…

I’d like to send a special thanks to Diesel Cruiserman for taking the time to drop by the
house today and dig out and set up the generators should they be needed. :princess: Can’t lift or
shift these things by herself. She has taken care of the important house stuff, and dogs.
My hat is off to you, my friend. Thank you! J
I got my PCR test today here in Tulsa, so should it look like I need to get back, I can hop a
silver bird and be home in 12-14 hrs. Fire looks like it’s holding south. I’ve drawn a line at
one road, if it starts marching north…..

Was just reading they had a good night and now they just added a new evacuation alert.

That alert must be awful close to you @cruiserpilot if you aren't in it.

Not an evac alert yet I guess, just an alert.

So I got my Toyota oil filters. They seem bigger diameter than the aftermarket ones. I’ll double check in the morning. And some new really bright lights!!

Those the 12ht / 2h filters?

Where'd you get them from? I need to restock seeing as I'll be using a couple pretty soon
I got them from toyotapartsdirect.ca. The Canadian online store that ships out of London.

News is sounding a little more positive to me:

Subsidence was heavy last night now that it’s SINGLE CELSIUS digits temp this morning!! Crazy
Lots of water hauling and a few fire trucks went up the hill last night, but I think they are now really beating it down now that the temps are so low. 😊 I’m back to Oklahoma heat Wednesday, 38C
