Thanks to everyone!
Melissa's doing great. Two pushes and it was a done deal. The whole delivery was about 5 minutes tops. The getting there... that was a whole other story.
Friday night about 11:30 she starts having some pretty serious lower abdominal pains. With both of the previous ones her labor was all in her back, so this lower ab deal was a whole new gig. So she calls the doctor on call and he suggests heading to the Hospital. So who do you call to come watch the kids at midnight? The trusty Brother in Law of course... granted he's been over at his buddies house all night and isn't even in bed when we called him. So he comes over and crashes on the couch while we head over to the Hospy to see what we can hatch. Needless to say, there weren't no hatchin goins on downstairs on Saturday mornin. So after about two hours of flip flop clad hot laps around the second story nursery without any progress, we got the boot.
"We'll call ya tomorrow to schedule your induction" and a swat on the ass to send us on our way at a dark and early 5 AM.
Wondering if "tomorrow" means today or Sunday, we spend pretty much all day Saturday answering the multiple phonecalls from family asking that same damned question over and over... "That baby here yet?"
... Uhm, yeah mom he showed up last week. Just came a-knockin on the door, little Goatee an everthin... NOOOOOOOO! "I'll call when he's on the way!"
So Saturday rolls by and most of Sunday, we finally get the call just about the time I had decided to settle down for the evening and watch some tube. So we head over to the ole hospy and plunk down for an induction ceremony... (not nearly as cool as Cooperstown), then we wait... and wait... and... you get the idea.
Nurse lady swings by around 11PM for the old valve check and says "This motor's reved up and rarin to go" or something like that, prolly sumpin a little less offensive to the wimmin folk that was buzzin 'round, but that's what I heard anyway.
So the wife gets all saddled up and the doc swings on in for the quick one two and POW! Brand spankin new baby boy all pink and screamin at the world! Nurse lady snatched him up all quick like and commences to towelin him down and runnin him through a quick blueprint and ballance. Before ya know it he's gassed up and purrin like a kitten.
So that's the story an I'm stickin to it. It's time for Pops to hit the 4 S's and head back over to the Hospy for some one on one time with the new "Little Man"
