OK, so I hosed my user name, left the r off, should be CruiseControl...I'm old! Just got myself a 1990 a new family member, she started out life red, went to green, now she has a very bad white paint job. No rust, leaky oil pan, i hope, don't want to mess with a rear main, dealing with the pan is bad enough according to you all. Glad I happened on to this site, life saver, you all are too cool, great info, already got my tune-up parts and gasket ordered through Cruiser Dan, thanks Dan for your help. Well here's a couple pics, she's stock and will most likely be that way till I get her all her maintenance caught up. Mainly want to introduce my two granddaughters to 4wheelin and real camping, that's how I brought my daughter up and that's some of her best memories. I think I spent $3500 well.

Welcome. Good luck with the new truck. I had a white 89 that I loved. Brings back memories. The pan is not too bad, the rear main sucks though.

Looks clean, give us mo' info. Miles, interior shots, and what part of the flat zero-scaped world you live in.

More Info

We're in Tucson AZ, great weather today, must have been close to 80! 217,000 miles mostly highway, Tucson to Texas is what I was told, never know, she's been in one family sense new. I'll post some inside pictures when I can get more uploaded, newbie status only allows a couple pics. Tim

Thanks

Thanks to all who have welcomed me:) the 62 will stay white for awhile, wish they had done a better job, money can be spent on better things than paint, OME lift, wheels with 33's, lockers, roof rack, bumpers with lights...bought a sportz tent, one that connects to the 62, wife doesn't want to sleet on the ground, set it up in the driveway yesterday pretty easy and has a lot of room. I would like to get a functional roof rack that's reasonably priced, any suggestions would be appreciated. Also I'm looking at new rubber, the cracks in the tires worry me, looking at BFG AT's, what's the largest I can go on stock rims without a lift?

Tim

Welcome to the family. I think there's a fairly new thread on roof racks going on and 33x10.5 seems like a popular size with no lift:steer:

You can get more space for pictures 2 ways.

1. Support MUD and buy a star. It will give you more space for pictures and also higher PM limit.

2. Create a photobucket account (or similar online survice) and upload your pictures to it. You can then look at the picture and see some IMG html code. If you paste that code intot he reply it will display the picture...

Hope that helps and good luck and welcome to the addiction. Lots of good information and ways to lighten your wallet around here.

Welcome and Nice purchase! You picked a great vehicle for camping and showing the kids what "old school" is all about. I have BFG all terrain 31's on mine on the stock rims, like yours, but I do have an Iron man lift. The all terrains just work in many conditions. I was really impressed with how well they go in the snow. These trucks are dogs stock and the 31's don't really add to make the slow acceleration that much slower :moon:. Eventually after $499,000 (or something like that) and a v8 swap I will go bigger. Until then the 31's work with the stock 62 drivetrain. HTH.

I like the name "CruiseControl". I've never been much of a poster here but I certainly do my share of reading and searching, followed by lots of wrenching. Great looking rig and I'd say you payed a fair price. I got mine in AZ in 08 for about the same price if my memory serves. This site is by far the best tool in my tool box. In fact I incorporated an old broken laptop into my work bench to have easy greezy access to it. Welcome.
