Hi my name is Dusty and I’m new to cruiser’s just purchasing a 2016 200!

I have been scouring threads and doing my homework as best I can and settled on my first upgrade. I purchased the Ironman 4x4 Foam Cell Pro 2” Front/1” Rear and Total Chaos UCA’s that should be here in the next week. Hopefully some of the tenured members here can answer some of my questions below that I could not find through my searches.

1. Can anyone outline the steps after lift install ie how long should I wait to get an alignment once the lifts settles? At what mileage does everything need to be re-torqued? Does the re-torquing happen pre or post alignment?

2. Once installed did anyone have issues getting alignment back to “close to spec”? If so any tips or tricks for my shop? Also how often should I rotate my tires if it’s “close to spec”?

3. 200’s don’t have a need for any kind of diff drop, correct? Is this even a concern only going 2” front?

4. Who’s got pictures? We all love pictures and I’ll be posting mine pre and post install.

Thanks again for reading my book, looking forward to learning lots so thanks in advance.

Dusty

1) Ask the shop you bought your suspension from. The shop that sold me my kings said to align around 1000 miles. No retorquing post install required (except lug nuts). I rotate tires every 3k miles.
2) Not with a lift that low. If you do aftermarket upper control arms are the solution (sounds like you already have them).
3) I haven't seen a diff drop for the 200 ( not saying they don't exist).

Thank you, Charlie! Appreciate the feedback. Are you running 285/60/18's?

Probably about 8k miles since I got the lift on. Got the truck in December with 111k and I’ll break 125K in the next day or two. I didn’t make a note of mileage when we put the lift on think it was around March or so. I like the suspension a lot. I like that it took some of the sway out and if you have to emergency brake it doesn’t nose dive like it did with the stock suspension. Even with the lift and tires it feels just as comfortable to me as it did when I drove it home from Tennessee when I bought it. Put the bumper on in August. I have noticed the front settle a little with the extra weight of the bumper and the 12k winch. It’s not bad though. I don’t mind a little forward rake. If need be I can always get a set of the factory spacers for the front to get it back up a little. When I pull my 40 on a trailer it levels out and pulls really nice. The main reason I got the 200 was to DD and tow the 40 anyway. But... it’s a Land Cruiser and I couldn’t help myself so it got a few Mods and gets wheeled a little.

@lostonaroad Have you installed your lift yet?
Will be installed next Thursday and will post some pictures once it’s on!! Also ended up getting the Camburg UCA in lieu of the Total Chaos.

Have you got sliders on the way yet?

Are you doing anything else like KDSS relocation brackets, diff drop, rear panhard bar?
I bought the relo kdss kit from trail tailor just to have because there had only been 3 left and he said he was slowing production towards the end of the year. No diff drop or rear panhards as from what I read they’re not needed quite yet. Only thing on my mind beside sliders in the immediate future is 275/70/18 BFG KO2s next if my current setup after the lift looks funny. Currently it’s on stock wheels with 285/60/18 Toyo Open Country at3s

I highly recommend BudBuilt. I run them and have put them through the ringer. They have been awesome.

Looking forward to the pics and feedback on the ride... Planning on ordering a set myself, 2" all around, in a few weeks. Cheers

Never a Dull Day! Looked like it was going to be done today but now they are saying there is a serious CV Joint clunk after alignment... Keep you all posted on the outcome when they report back tomorrow morning on the issues, they are reporting it is only one side. If anyone has any ideas on what it could be im all ears!

Probably overextended the CV during coilover and UCA install.

Do you run a diff drop?

called up my uncle who owns several shops in PA and he said the same thing. The test will be how they deal with it. I like to believe most are honest until they prove me otherwise.

Where in PA?? I'm in the south-central Lancaster/Harrisburg area, and have been on the lookout for a shop with Land Cruiser experience!

My uncles a generalist but knows his stuff, honest as the day is long kinda guy but he may be too far as a day to day mechanic. If you want a more cruiser/overland specific shop in your back yard I’d lookup Main Line Overland: Auto, 4x4 Specialist for Cars, Jeeps, Trucks, SUVs out of West Chester which should be within an hour or so drive from you👍
