I need to wire an ACC 12V wire lead from my CD player I am installing into the glove box of my 82 fj. (funtion is to supply the power to signal to turn on when key is turned, I also am hardwiring a 12v staight to the batt - but i think i can do it)

Where should i connect to the factory wiring and how?

Also, I already looked for wiring diagrams and fuse block so I kinda know a litlle about them. (but any details you could share would be great)

I would like the player to only be on when the switch is in the ACC or Run position.

And How different is the 1982 FJ40 wiring from earlier models (like color codes).

to whom it may concern - i already searched and looked in faq for this question and i could not find it, if you know it is in there please explain how to find it

thanks
tylerp

If you pull your fuse block out (undo the 2 screws) you'll find two male spade lugs covered with some plastic tubing. One is always hot the other controlled by the key and is hot when the key is either in ACC of ON.
