Newbie saying Hello from colorful Colorado (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone. Just wanted to introduce as I am a newbie to the forum and to the 70 series. My new rig is a 1995 Prado that is nearing completion with a Cummins R2.8 swap. There is a sad story here and some tech assistance needed, but that is for later. Imported this one from Japan so she’s a manual and right hand drive. Picked her up with about 100,000 miles.

How does the Cummins R2.8 fit in the engine bay?

I actually lined up perfectly. It is very snug to get the a/c condenser, intercooler, radiator and fan mounted in front of the engine. It fit with 3/4" between the fan and pulley. I will get some better photos this weekend when I swing by the shop where they are doing the install.

I had about 5 hours into the vehicle driving home after I bough it. Had some crazy -20 over night weather and I then things froze and that was that. Head warped and lost all compression. Replace the head, the gasket, all 4 injectors, water pump and belts but could never get compression fully back. EGT's kept going up and up and had exhaust in my coolant. Could drive around town but not on the highway. I spent too many weeks in my garage so I threw in the towel and ordered a Cummins and reached out to a hot rod shop. Engine may still be ok, I'm an accountant not a mechanic so who knows. Gonna list it in the classifieds as parts.
