Recently stumbled upon a 91 80-series and I love this truck! Being of average mechanical ability, I just wanna say how cool it was to first fall into owning a landcruiser....and second to find this site. :crybaby: OK...enough mush.....my cruiser was runnin pretty tight until recently. "supernatural" steering has taken over --ie it appears that i'm drunk behund the wheel at highway speeds and rolling at 5-10mph I hear something like a cross between a spinning roulette wheel and dragging a log chain across concrete. Braking- the truck pulls side to side and at one point the brakes really clamped on and popped pretty good
Where do I start...I'm guessing wheel bearings etc....oh yeah, front wheels jacked I get approx 3/4" of play in the wheel at 12 and 6. Be kind...I dont know technical names for many parts. Enough said...thanks again for any advice/hazing.:hillbilly:

Could be the front wheel bearings loose or trashed. Take it apart and see what is not right. Get a FSM & call cdan for parts. Fix ASAP & do not drive.
Cheers,
Sean

Hay everlung, I had the logging chain dragging syndrome but at all speeds brought it to a locally recommended independent brake & front end guy, it was my LSPV. Oh yah.............3Fe POWA!! havent said that in a while.
Cheers, Cliff

Thanks for the input...will take a closer look at things tomorrow. I think better under 110 degree desert heat. 3FE!! :D
