Hello, Hopefully somebody here will be able to help me out here. Just last week I bought a 97 Lexus lx450. It is a very clean vehicle. Only 92,000 miles, only disadvantage it does not have lockers which in my case is okay because i have a trail rig already (94 toy pickup) and this is intended to be my dd. The only thing it did not have when i bought it was a lock/unlock remote for doors. So you have to use the key to unlock the vehicle and hurry and get in and put key in ignition and turn before the alarm goes off. I went to Lexus earlier this week and ordered a remote that came in the other day. I took the vehicle to them to have the remote programed to the vehicle and after 2 hours they finally came back to me and said they coundnt figure out how to do it???? Yes, thats how they said it to me exactly. Apparently, the service manager has some friends at the Toyota dealership and told me that when he can get ahold of this ONE GUY he would know and then let me know from there. The Lexus dealership is telling me that the auto-arm feature for the LX is over-riding the remote which causes the alarm or horn to sound if you open the door. Apparently there is a feature to disarm the auto-arm if you turn the ignition key on-off in sequence a certain number of times or there is some way to dis-arm it BUT as of right now the dealership has no idea and has told me to just, "SIT TIGHT".
I have been shocked by this as i dont normally take any vehicle to a dealership to get any kind of work done and certainly didnt expect to spend 3 days and over 5 hours for a Lexus dealership to tell me to "SIT TIGHT" why they TRY and see if some one can figure it out.
Just thought Id check on here as I know alot of you guys have MASS KNOWLEDGE on 80's and 450's and maybe someone has had to do this before. Just FYI, Part # for remote is 08191-60820. Thanks for any help you guys can give and for taking the time to read this. Ill try and get some pics up later as im sure some might be interested. Thanks again!

what type of fob do you have? If it's the kidney shaped one with red, black, and green buttons, then I might be able to help.
