Sounds like the Krown is the way to go. On the codes buy a new toyota gas cap. Old ones can throw codes, cheap insurance. Beautiful rig enjoy.
the cap will throw codes like ABS, vehicle stability? If you guys think it could be part of some codes i will go buy one now and drive it down there. Yesterday they thought i would need a new antenna motor after they replaced the mast. I read a thread that it just needed to be reset, so I drove down, turned the car on, hit the antenna button, and it went up. the turned car on and worked like normal. i was getting ready to have a 250$ motor shipped from CA. If you think I should do it I will go do it now. Work is pissing me off today anyway

i see you already went with borla exhaust which is great, but id like to suggest taking it into an exhaust specialist who works with toyota coupes and suv's and see what they could make custom for you which can come out cheaper if you want or something personalized with hearing different mufflers.

Mine lit up like a XMas tree. Got a new fuel cap from Lexus had codes cleared and no more codes or lights in a year.

thanks for the thought but i will need to wait until next go round!!

I GOT MY TRUCK BACK AND LOVE IT. I have been driving it all weekend. I had it detailed and tinted the front windows. I am having siriusxm radio put in Tuesday. I am having it integrated with stock system. Okay so here is the land cruiser quote of the weekend. My wife is having a watercolor competition with a friend of mine. We are sitting at table and she is painting while I reading forum about extra parts coverage. She says " why dont you do something arty?"

probably an old hat answer to you guys but my response: " Baby, my truck is my canvas!!! "

hahahahahahah I will post new pics soon.

Nice rig @BlackLab - looking forward to seeing images of the updates!

Okay well here are the finished pics of my month long entry into LC world. The last things were a leak in the windshield I took care of (which because of this forum i stopped myself from paying for moldings or a new windshield because it was obvious that there were no rivets in the molding), sirius xm radio install, detailed to get out prior owner boogers, new front speakers, and a 50% tint on the front windows. Lastly I threw the Shenandoah Virginia Bear plates on it! I am done for now. You guys have been great. Thanks.

I now feel that this is my car!!!

So the final number that I am into this car is 19,400!!! I traded for all the labor so 10 grand for the car and 9,400 for parts (includes radio work and sirius install to work with factory)

Ok so did the new gas cap fix your code problem? I would also get a new radiator cap and overflow tank cap. Plus if you have not replaced them do the "T'" at the back of the engine.

The codes are gone. I was expecting most of them to be gone but all of them were so if the cap helped then thats great. If you think i should get those other caps i will. I need to wait a short time to bank some dough or my wife will scream. Everyone i know is tired of hearing about my new car project. I have had to call old golf buddies that i have not seen in awhile and be like "hey, long time no talk.....hahahahahah. I did replace the T because it was recommended here, as well as hoses and rest of the stuff recommended while timing belt being done.

Great thread and I'm glad that you got her all fixed up. Makes me want to go out and tinker with mine. Good luck with it and happy trails.

Glad to hear that helped, it fixed mine, the Rad. Cap and overflow are less then $20 and makes sure your system is working right. Cheap insurance. You have done an impressive job!!

Nice work! Let's see some pics of the new radio setup.

I put in the d series pioneer speakers in the front but obviously cannot get pics of it. The other choice was focals, and some people have mentioned polks also, but the pioneers work well. If i do anything further on that I will look at upgrading the factory amplifier, which would allow for more work. This gets more expensive then i need now so will wait. The sirius install was integrated with the factory radio so is not visable, so no pics of that either. The antenna for it i chose an unobtrusive spot on the roof next to the trunk. You cant see it. One of the nice things about the sirius is that since i now listen to it all the time my regular antenna never goes up. This is nice since it goes up and down whenever i get a call that is hooked into blue tooth. The only downer about the integration is that the sirius channels need to be scrolled through with the CD function. I guess is doesnt matter that much because deep tracks and classic vinyl are right next to each other and pretty much what i listen to. It would also be nice if the nav system would default to the radio function and name the band and song. As it stands i have to hit the radio function to get the names. If anybody knows how to do that it would be cool to know??

okay new thing. i have about 500 miles on the new car with all mods. the front end is drooping a bit. i have read some threads on here about it but am confused. I mean, it has only been 500 miles. The car was fairly level when lift was installed and now the front end just seems to have dropped a little. I dont like the look. HELP....................i got the diff drop....is this normal? Di need to have someone adjust torsion bar??????????????????

Whoever did the install can level it for you. Slee leveled mine when he installed it. I don't like the stink bug look either. Yes they adjust the T bars

thanks for reply. is this something that happens? did slee adjust yours later? i think mine was fairly level after install? I was reading that having it level was bad for wear but i thought thats what diff drop was for.. anyway, an adjustment fixes it for good or should i expect to have to re adjust every once and awhile? any other post-install things to look out for?

i like the stinkbug analogy but hate the fact that i am driving to north carolina for 5 days with the look. how quick of an adjustment is it? maybe i will try to get it done tomorrow

Okay, have not seen you guys in awhile. Too busy enjoying my 100. Already have 20k miles on it since purchase. I love everything I have done to it with the help from you guys. I am now at a new crossroads. I need a new exhaust manifold. I do not think i am going to replace the manifolds with new ones, but instead go with some shorty headers. I have a borla exhaust which i like, so the long pipe headers are out. The ones being recommended to me so far are JBA ceramic coated shorties. I have only seen stuff from DT on this site pretty much. Anyone ever used them or used any non DT ones? why only DT? How much of a performance difference will i notice? Will putting headers on this car make it any more liable for more expensive repairs down the road? Am i thinking stupidly? Appreciate your thoughts

The labor to R&R exhaust manifolds is breathtaking.... Like 10 hours or something stupid like that.

I've got a cracked manifold that ticks when cold but I just ignore it because I'm not paying $1000 in labor to swap it out
