Well with those rims/tires no..you probably can't go places he can go...

But in my stock 80 I took it places his Z71 couldn't go...it only gets better from here too with lift/tires....

Here is my stock 80s (no lockers) for you...

Good to see another member without f/r lockers..gives me hope that i can do some offroading like that..

I was more worried about having just stock Dunlap tires...but I was still rather impressed.

Good spotters are always important as well...

most of what we have around here is mud, I am getting a set of BFGoodrich KO's in a week or so I am staying with the 31x10.5's though. Well at least for now, there may be a 2 inch lift and a set of 33's in my future. I should probably get a winch before I go out with my buddies chevy though, so I can pull him out right.

you could run on 33's right now if you wanted. A 31 is less than the stock tire dimension on a 93-97 and you have the same suspension! Also, the at ko's will not do the job in mud. They are great for everything else. I would also consider getting a set of cheap steel rims and putting mts on them for offroad and keeping the rim/tires you have for the highway. It will save you gas.

and a tow rope will suffice for the chev

You can pull out most trucks with your 80. You can probably pull trucks out easier with your LC than your friends Z71 (as long as you have the same amount of traction).. Get some MT's and you'll go farther than he can. Although if it's a newer Z71 truck I'm pretty sure they have a rear locker?

Thanks everyone! Crusin Carolina your right it is an great color. So I have a couple of questions. Are they really off road machines? I have a friend who owns a 2001 chevy short bed Z-71 with semi off-road 33's, he swears I couldn't go half the places he could, I know those newer chevy's are great but. What can I do to increase my gas mileage? How much would a disel swap cost and would it be worth it? I do love my new truck, but fuel mileage is going to kill me this is my daily driver.

Extended cab? Mine won't go the places the Toyota will and the truck has a set of MT tires unlike the cruiser. Wheel base makes a significant difference around here.
