Hello to all, been lurking for a while, and thought it was time, I am from Puerto Rico and have owned a 1991 fj80 for about 3 years, strictly stock, just a work horse for all the hobbies, recently was looking at buying a trail ride and decided on working on the 80 instead and converting it into what I want, I mean its about as reliable as it gets (car wise).

look forward to interacting with you snow birds

Living in Houston, that is the first time I've been called a snow bird.
Welcome :flipoff2:

Bienvenido!!!

I am from Puerto Rico also, I have an 83 FJ60 and a 92 FJ80. The 80 is the daily driver and the 60 is the trail rider, however as of now, the 80 is the only one seeing some off roading. PM me and I'll get in touch with you.

thanks for the warm welcome lol

Any pics of your ride? Is it a US spec truck or what?

Sid

will take some these weekend, as to have pics of the starting point of the project, it is a US spec truck, it has been with the family for close to 10 years now, My mother had it since it had about 30k miles on it, then my younger brother used it for his BA (school) once he went to study law in Iowa, I bought it for us, as a 3rd car, since I knew how reliable the thing had been!! it as 91k on the clock, a twisted front bumper and in some need of TLC paint wise and some upholstery. pretty much stock, has 32's on and not much else, cmae with Lockers, I believe it was the base model, as it does not have leather or roof racks, it has factory installed side rails, which will probably have to be removed for offroad.

welcome bro. im also from PR, but stuck in el paso, mexico.

Welcome!

Where do you go wheeling in PR?

I have inlaws in Bayamon, Aguadilla, Naranjito, and Arroyo. Maybe next time i visit PR I'll have my 80 shipped. ;)

I have been to Penuelas, Morovis, and Ciales, I am a Newb at this, have always had 4x4's for towing boats as such and recently gotten the Mud Bug!

I also have a late 83' Bronco fullsize that we have truly enjoyed but it seems a little fragile compare to the Fj, hence the reason I decided to work on the FJ instead.

wait...you have Inlaws in all those places?

Dang when we go back I'll have to post up so I can hit some PR trails, even in the passenger seat I bet it's fun.

My wife's mother is from Naranjito and her father is from Arroyo - I like those areas and imagine there'd be some great trails in the mountains.

welcome:flipoff2: looking forward to some pics
