Just started building my trailer after much research. I hope that is going to come out ok, I do have a friend helping that used to build/ weld at a local trailer supply store. I guess its more of a beach/ off road trailer. It will also have a RTT and a rack above that for fishing. The front seems long now but will also have the spare tire mounted there and a small cargo basket. Let me know what you guys think or any sugestions that you might have.

Hope the pics work.

Nice. Will the top open out in a trifold pattern, (ie: one leaf over each wheel) or pivot forward like a tonneau cover?

If you extended the draw bar tounge to the rear you could put a receiver hitch for hauling bikes on the back...

I was thinking about the back reciever- good idea. The top will open from the side so you can stand on the side and access the whole bed. It will be a solid sheet metal top with a 4" rack and then the rtt on top of that.

it said I could not post any more pics I guess my file size was to large for the first pic and it took up most my storage???

Looks good! What size and gauge of metal did you use for the lower frame, tongue, and uprights? I'm looking at building a trailer and was wondering if 3x3 .120 wall was good for the lower frame/tongue. thanks.

The lower frame (black) is 2x2x3/16 and the top frame (red) is 1 1/2x 1 1/2x 1/16 and the fender wells and top lid with the rack will be 1x1x1/16 this all seemed kinda thin to me until you looked at it and when it was welded together you could really see the strength. The trailer is light and is very strong and sturdy for my needs. It will be skinned with 1/16 sheet metal with 1/2 treated ply wood for the floor.

New trailer build- any comments

Here is the latest progress. Still need the spare tire mount and basket on the front, fenders still need to be skinned. Top rack is for a RRT and the side mounts are for rod holders to go fishing. inside will be 3/4" treated plywood painted. Let me know if you guys have any other ideas.

It's looking sharp. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done.
