So I bought an '04 LC with 105k miles... no records but great shape and no issues. I'm getting all the maintenance items current and had a question on the fuel filter and PS fluid.

What is the change interval for these?? None of the service manuals I've downloaded really gave a good answer. Are these those "lifetime" items?

FWIW, I've just had the timing belt, water pump, coolant, AT fluid and brake fluid all changed. Doing the diffs and transfer case this weekend and lubing the driveshafts.

Thanks and this site is super helpful!!

I would call them 90k service items, especially the FF. Realistically, you're probably fine to go a good deal over that, but it's a good idea to do it. Also, replace your heater hose pipe T's. It's $15 in parts and a little over an hour of your time. It's a :banana:job, and at over 100k, it should be done.
The FAQ has a write-up with a lot of good info and part #'s.

Congrats on the 100 and welcome!

Welcome to the '04. Great year! I'm in the middle of a "keep it for the rest of my life" maintenance job on my '04 (with 92K miles). I've got $2500 in parts either already on the L.C. or sitting the garage for the coming weekends. The dealer I ordered the parts from told me the fuel filter on these is pretty much bullet proof and suggested I not change it (unless I accidentally put diesel in the tank someday). There is no service interval listed in the '04 owner's manual service supplement for the FF. So, I'd change it only if it makes you feel better or if you have a fuel problem. The P.S. fluid change is a good idea and there is lots of info on this forum on easy, quick ways to flush that. Mine was black. Use the search feature and take a look at the FAQs too.

Funny, I stopped by the dealer to get a few minor things and asked about the fuel filter. They told me the same thing.... it's basically good for a LONG time and not a normal replacement item.

It was a $30 item and not knowing PO's fuel preference it was an easy decision and a 10 minute swap.

Lubing the driveshaft is very important
