So I am a new-to-me '00 LC 100 owner. The "S'more" - a name I hate but was my wife's immediate reaction on seeing it because it looks like a giant marshmallow but has some tan-ish plastic caldding that looks like a gingerbread cracker :crybaby: - has 223,xxx miles on it.

Thanks to the PO, it has new shocks and new Michelin M/S 265/70 R16s :meh:, and a big black mooser masher / deer diverter / brush guard. Otherwise it appears stock, starts, shifts, brakes and runs beautifully. Everything works. Amazing, even the antenna works. And, thank God, NO NAV(!)

My question: Yesterday I see the term "stink bug" for the first time in my life other than in my 1977 freshman biology class. I've looked at some allegedly stinky vehicles on teh Mud here, and now I'm concerned I *think* I have stink. Is there a definition? A measurement that is a bright line? Is it dangerous? Contagious? Should I eliminate it?

I've searched as much as I could before posting, both here and on google (got mostly pictures of various hemiptera there), and I think I understand what it is in general. Please accept my apologies if I missed a humongous thread that explains all. I tried!

Thanks,
Rider on the S'more

"Stinkbug" refers to the front to rear stance of the vehicle - typically a low front end in comparison to a high back end (vs. a level vehicle).

Hundy's sit about an inch higher in the back which helps provide an optimum driving/steering response experience.

Take a tape measure or ruler and measure from the center of one of the hubs up to the bottom of the fender well. Do this on all four corners.

Compare the results.

On my LC, the rear pasenger side (PS) sits a little higher vs. the rear driver's side (DS). So I need to make an adjustment. But the rear on both sides sit about 1 inch higher vs. the front corners.

Some are bothered by the ass end higher than the front end, but for some reason that crosses over to a bunch of different truck brands.

Once there's a load in the back, things even out.

I could care less if it looks weird...it seems to work VERY well.

Looks like "stink beetle" gets the correct reference pictures (not stink bug). This guy really needs to crank up the front torsion bars

That's in the order "Coleoptera" - nothing like a stink bug (order "Hemiptera"). I've been mislead by this forum! :hillbilly:

I'll measure tonight. Thanks!

EDIT - i have about 2.5" of droop and one side is a little lower than the other side. Looks a lot more but that's what I measured. Guess it's the brush guard.

This is pathetically addicting.
