So. Is the Jemez the popular choice? If so, let's do it. I don't have chains, but I do have a skinny pedal and ain't 'fraid to use her!

I would expect there could be money to make off of rescuing unprepared (ahem) "cidiots".
Went to Caja Del Rio and poked around to find an old camp spot today and made it all the way to a spot across the rio from the Frijoles Falls in Bandelier. I was pushing snow with my bumper in spots but never really had much issue getting 4R go. Biggest problem was dealing with the ruts we couldn't see. After another snow it would be pretty deep!
Like the family we help a few years back in a domestic crossover SUV with skinny wall city tires that was a few miles deep off of the highway. Didn't even know what the "sand" button did on the dash board and that he should use it.![]()
I say we do the Jemez! Lets do this folks! So. Is the Jemez the popular choice? If so, let's do it. I don't have chains, but I do have a skinny pedal and ain't 'fraid to use her!
Definitely In, trying to source chains. Not a scared. 0930 Walatowa?
I have no chains for the 4Runner. Ya walatowa 9:30 cool!!! I’d rather spend more time wheeling than rescuing people though.
@Manona do you have a suggested route? If we come out through Cuba I may drive the pickup instead of towing 4Runner
I don't have chains and didn't find any the couple of places I stopped at today.
Like Bionic said there is Ponderosa area that we have done in the past...but it maybe be really deep by now as well? I guess better chance there than up another 1k in elevation. I'm would think trails around Cabezon could be an option for less snow but enough to have fun.
EDIT:
This more or less represents my stock 4R (in my head) but I'd rather not spend 6 hours driving 1/4 mile or rescuing half of ABQ.
