Cool! Glad to see someone picked that up!

I couldn't resit. :) The more I looked at FJ40's in my price range, the better this piggie looked.

I've got some work to do. I got it into the garage last night and will start tearing apart the interior and front axle asap.

dave. take a look at eastwood. they have great paints you can use on the interior.

The more I poke around the more I think it will stay olive green. Everything is already olive inside, so with some sanding and cleaning up outside and a decent coat of Krylon Olive Drab I think we'll be good to go. :)

I can save the full white transformation for sometime down the road if I decide to do a full frame off resto, not worth the effort at this stage.

Do the drab on the bottom and white on top. Probably cost you $50. Think it'll look cool

that will look very very kewl

very nice ... similar to this one that i almost bought from Endless Earth...

just dont paint those light blue stripes on it...

I think I'd actually like to do the roof white as well, so red up to the "hips" then white the rest of the way.

Then Gray Durabak or Herculiner on the floors and white for the rest of the rest of the interior.

Sounds like a good plan. Isn't there one Durabak type place that can dye the coating to match other colors? Red is a great choice!

Dave - the red to the hips/all white would look sweet. Oem silver grille & headlight surrounds - like in the first pic? ;)

45cc's! John - please start importing these immediately! :grinpimp:

Nice collection...

Believe me if I could, I'd have one in the driveway already. Haven't seen those in AU yet. They are all over Brazil but they are a few years away from getting off the import restrictions.

Few more years and I'll have the US littered with them...starting with my garage. For now we'll have to settle for troopys and 45 wagons.

Got the permission slip signed for a run up in Madison, NH with Kina. I'm married with a kid so PLEASE don't take this away from me. Troopy will be here in 1 month.

Got the 45 sold I think.....

We've finally reached a stopping point in the kitchen so tonight I begin my tear down, here's my list so far...

1. Strip cargo area interior, access and repair gas tank issue (hopefully a bad hose or charcoal canister hook up)

2. Tear down both front brakes, rebuild calipers, new pads, turn rotors, reassemble.

3. Fix e-brake. The truck came with a box with (supposedly) the parts needed.

4. Strip front interior, patch minor holes in floor.

5. Add seat belt extensions up front to accommodate my fat ass.

6. Center up steering and replace TRE's as needed. Replace front shocks with slimmer ones to stop the relay rod from rubbing.

7. Replace broken rear light lenses on pside.

I've got a bunch of other stuff I want to do, but if I can accomplish all that I should be able to get it registered and inspected.

I've found some great write-ups on MUD for most of this so hopefully I can get it done quick.

dave... please please please look into the SMOOTH durabeck for the interior. same stuff but with out the rubber chuncks in it! ask Jason Peters about rubbing bare skin against that herculiner, it sucks. also, it is a PITA to clean. IMHO, get the smooooooooooooooth stuff, its just as durable.

yeah Dave I had the regular Durabek on the insid eof my fj40 and that stuff would take your skin away if you even got near it. I am in love with the SEM spray on bedliner a gallon kit comes with bottles and the mixing stuff you can get black or you can get a base that you can replace the hardening agent with a paint color so it is home tintable in other words. see this thread for more info and how it looks he did the inside of his bed with the producted tinted. I also love that color

anyway you can barrow my gun for sprayig it when it comes time. just need to hook it up to a compressor and you are good to go
Jason
