We'll after many months my new windshield was installed sat. I helped they Glass installer as it was a TIGHT fit. New W/S and Glass with rust repair under it and shot with ppg single stage. New glass is amazing.. it's like it's not even there :D I didn't document the repair as much as I should have but here are a few pics.

This is middle repair.. the whole corner was pretty well rusted. Cut everything out and welded in new metal. other cornet not nearly as bad but needed work.

Nice job...very clean. I noticed some rust coloured stains seeping between the seam on the inside bottom right corner of my windshield frame. I figured with the holes dirlled for the snorkel bracket on the windshield frame it wouldn't hurt to rust proof it. Took off the visors and blasted the inside of the windshield frame with Pro Form 707 to hopefully delay the onset of rust.

Anybody else have a better trick of keeping the windshield frame happy? I have never flipped my windshield down (BJ74), so I don't know if I have holes underneath that I could use to blast Pro Form into the bottom inside of the frame. Thanks.

Hey Stone...

I want to do the same to my 74 window frame. Lets make a plan to pop a roof on one of our trucks and see! We could always drill some holes, paint the metal, then spray with the wand I have and place plastic plugs in place (much the same as Ziebart does).

Looks like a nice repair job wesintl!

Can't you guys lift up/tilt the frp roof up at the windshield enough to fold it down to look? I did this when I wanted to do something similar to my 40. That way you don't need to take the roof off.

I wish I could have done that ;(

winsheild seal

Where did you find the winshield seal for the 70? Toyota no longer makes them.

The seal/weatherstripping is still available. I'ts the same part used for the 2002 and up HZJ79mine pickups. Since those part numbers belong in the "Industrial" division of Toy motors in Canada, the old number just shows up as obsoleted instead of upgraded at a regular dealership.

Good old Ens Toy (Industrial division) in Saskatoonie can get you the right one in no time at all, PN 56121-60120. I paid 69.20 before tax and shipping in Sept. 2002.

Cheers

If someone wants my old one the glass installer said it was still in pretty good shape. I still have another new one in the plastic so I have a backup. Just pay for shipping. I don't know why anyone would want it you can get it from ens for $50 + shipping and I did get one through a us dealer for my ins glass install so it should be in the system.

Finally, the part # in the post above is what I used.
