Got lucky the other day. I scored a pretty much rust free 94 3.0 dlx .

Here is eastern Canada that’s a rarity. It came from TN about 5 years ago.

Alongside my 93 80 series it’s gonna be a fun project.

It came to me because of the 3.0 head gasket tradition.

Partial teardown has occurred and Toyota valve grind kit is ordered.
I have access to the tooling for doing valves and seats.

Still has nice cross hatching in the bores.

Drained the chocolate milk and added a gallon of diesel to the sump and turning it over by hand everyday to get the pump to push it through the galleries and rid it of any water.

The only heavy surface rust is rear axle back.

Easily eliminated by lifting the box and a quick blast and respray of chassis paint.

Seeing a frame this clean is a shock, especially in Atlantic Canada!

Things are moving along, Engine is out, Toyota full engine gasket kit acquired.
Heads apart, going to grind ex valves and seats. Someone failed to ck valve clearances and they are burned a bit. Intakes are ok.

My degreaser solution of Brulin 512 just eats grease and carbon🕺. Rubbermaid container for the soaking tank.

Brulin 512, if you can get it as it’s an aerospace decarborizer, is amazing.
2 quarts to 8 gallons of water is my ratio. And it keeps working no matter how much you use it.

After the soak I just rinse with hot water from my hot water tank in my garage with a garden hose.

Valve lapping was a success and she holds fluid, not a drip anywhere 🕺
