as much as i hate to say it, for that kind of coin i would do a cummins swap.

a buddy of mine did a 4BT into his 72 blazer. it sounds AWESOME. and blows smoke rings out the exhaust.

3bt is a nice package, excellent choice for a mid size- compact rig... where did your buddy find the motor. I think cummins wants about 6k for a 3bt (3.3 actually) and I haven't found any used... A lot of the 4BT's are pretty worked by the time they come up for sale so I imagine the 3b's would be in the same shape or worse.. Proffit's Cruisers has gone to all new cummins motors because of this afaik...

edit, i guess its a 4BT into the blazer

he bought a couple of bread trucks for the motor and parts.

i maintained diesel should last a while.

Just ordered a 3" lift and a diff drop kit for it. It won't be a low rider for much longer!

I met J. I checked out one of his vans that he sold to the other J. I checked out his rig a month or so ago, nice work... He has some serious aspirations.

i used to work wih jacob on the atom project, and then at the place we worked after the atom.
hes a really smart guy, i like him alot.

I am proud to report my 4runner has become 13% less gay today. I am upgrading its status from "Soccer mom SUV" to "Wannabe mall crawler". I put on the 3" lift a little while back and finally got my rear adjustable panhard bar installed, front diff drop, extended rear brake line, alignment and slightly used metric 32" Nitto A/T's. I should be able to tackle those speed bumps at the mall with wreckless abandon now! Before & After pics...u can almost notice the difference!

Looking much better for sure! You gonna tear ass up and down the beach in it next weekend??

Yeah, it'll stay pretty mild. Only thing left to do is bumpers, sliders and a rear locker with 4.56's. Its a good light wheeling, family camping rig which is something the pig is not! I'll leave the ugly stuff for the 55.

Aric, you don't like autos huh? Auto Trans guys are phags or what?? I like my auto tranny. It is still in my plans to rebuild(have someone else that I trust) my old one someday with a few Rodney upgrades and a cooling system. ;p

Aric, those look like the bumpers I'll be getting and I think my wife is buying me sliders for my bday. What else does that thing have done to it looks to have a SAS with coilovers and some incredibly long rear links. I see a shaved rear housing with a disc conversion too. Seems like a small fortune was spent on that thing. Cool though.

OK, here he goes.....!

I've got the best wife ever! A strategically sent "hint hint" email before fathers day netted me a pair of sliders from Savage Offroad! Installed them yesterday, along with 1" wheel spacers for the front wheels to get them to stop rubbing the upper control arm. Then I also started building a sleeping platform in the back. It allows us to sleep above the wheel wells so we have more room and can store stuff underneath us in case of rain. I'm only halfway done with it but it will get tested out this weekend. The Runner looks soooo much better with the sliders rather than the stock running boards!
removal of stockers....

paint...like my sawhorse?? I was debating on powder coating but instead opted for some expensive 'hammered finish' spray paint. That way I can do easy touchups.

Sleeping platform with the seats folded up.

This is what I have to finish, I need another piece of wood so that there isn't a big gap once the seats are folded down. At the moment we will just cram clothes and stuff there and the airmattress will have to float over the folded down seats.
