New to these, but this price seems low.

2000 Lexus LX 470 Base

I called the guy a few minutes ago and he said it just sold.

So now my question is, for that year, miles, and the excellent condition it appears to be in, what's your thought on the kind of price I'll need to pay for something like it?

Thanks.

Yes...this is a low asking price for this year with these miles...especially from a dealer.

I am buying an LC today that has 154K . Its an 01, needs some seat repair but has every major part under the hood replaced in the last 4000 miles. I am getting it for $10,000, which I think is fair. Not great, but considering seller has receipts for several thousands of dollars in maintenance (new brakes/rotors, timing belt, water pump, tensioners, alternator, tires, moon roof motor, head gasket, etc) its not terrible. Plus one owner in the south, not a dealer...

That one seemed low for sure.

I just bought a 2000 LC with 177xxx for $8,999 from a dealership in MN. It has fairly significant underbody rust (actually pretty similar to the picture you posted in the other thread...I think that was you anyway), but she drives wonderfully. I'm putting a few grand into it this month for manifolds, TB/WP, shocks, brake pads, and fluids, but all things I considered I'm fine with the work and related costs after buying the rig for 9K.

That is priced low. Having said that, a few things to consider:
- How much rust under the car? What you can see may look excellent, but underneath may look like a nightmare.
- If you curious, go to Lexus.com. Register. Enter VIN, check out the maintenance history. See if any major problem that owner decline to fix. Also you can see which dealer who has been fixing the car - is this a northern vehicle where salt is being used in winter? There is a reason why it is priced low. All of the 100's I have seen, from dealers that are priced lower than average have major problems. These dealers are not stupid.
- Good resource to read Slee Off-Road 100 Series Newbie Guide
- A good LC/LX with reasonable price or slightly cheaper than average will get sold fast. If you looking for one, you need to jump at it quickly.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tips.
