Hello Community,
I just bought a 80 series and it says Fulltime4WD at the back. So there is no indicator light in the dash for it?

Somebody must have added the hubs in the front and converted it to "part time".

Im just wondered because nothing shows up in the dash when i lock the hubs in.

When I hit the CDL the light shows up.

Is that correct that there is no indicator light for the 4WD?

Cheers, Marco

Hi and welcome. You are correct, there is no indication for 4x4. The CDL should come on if you select it.

I you have part time locking front hubs, then your CDL has to be "ON" to go anywhere.........

Also, a typical part-time kit means you have to shift the T-Case from 2WD to 4WD.

Only if it hasn't had an actual part time kit installed.

I don't think that's true for any of the 80 series conversions. You just remove the center viscous coupling, remove the center diff gear thingies, and put in a new spool.

The transfer case still just shifts between high and low range, so now I have low range 2wd. :D

If the P.O. just put on manual hubs, then yeah, you wouldn't go anywhere without them -OR- the CDL locked.

Cdl button engages front output from the transfer case. The hubs make it 4wd with power to the ground. The shift lever is only to select High or Low range.
