Hello I've been reading on here for a while and have learned a lot so first wanted to say thanks. I've just bought a 2000 LC with 145k miles and it seems to have meticulous service records. The owner bought it new and it's been serviced by the same mechanic since 50k miles. Everything Ive heard about them is great but I realize I'm getting into a 10yr old vehicle so it will not be perfect. I'm hoping I can drive it for a while with no big surprises. It's got new Michelins so that's a plus. Any input on cost of ownership or what not to do with one of these is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

what not to do ??

remove running boards and lift ! and don't listen to anyone on here about that thing hanging down from the frame on the pass side. :hhmm:

and Welcome !! :flipoff2:

Thanks I will definitely be removing the running boards and the stereo/6cd changer is shot so I was thinking about maybe replacing it with something else. It's got a few dings but otherwise a pretty clean ride, look forward to taking it on a few hunting trips this winter!

It was a soccer mom's car but think it's got some potential..

Looks nice. Congrats and welcome to MUD.

Don't leave an oily cleanup rag under the hood after you replace the entire front brake system. Welcome!

Congrats on the purchase!

Great lookin Cruiser! Best color stock I think!
Cranking up those torsion bars is a great first "mod", give you a nice level stance

So far I'm loving this truck. The color looks green(river rock green metallic) in that photo but parked at my house next to my charcoal grey pickup the color looks exactly the same. Either way I could care less just glad I found one, keeping the pickup for driving through saltwater at boat ramps and LC for everything else!

All-inclusive MUD what not to do list.

  • Paint anything red.
  • Mount anything on your hood.
  • Ask any question about tire size/brand.
  • Ask what the thing hanging from the frame under the passenger door is.
  • Ask any question like it's the first time anyone has ever pondered the topic without first searching the forum.
  • Leave your running boards on.
  • Question the authority of anyone who drives a Corvette.
Did I miss anything? :)
