Hello,

My name is Erich, live in Albuquerque with my wife and two kids. I go to UNM full time for Mechanical Engineering. I was stationed in Clovis, NM for 5 years and originally grew up and lived in Reno and Sacramento.

Enough with the boring stuff though, lets talk about the ride! I have a '94 FJ80 with 257k miles. I has a three inch lift and 33" tires. She is a little rough around the edges but runs strong and is a blast.

Welcome to Mud and the High Desert Cruisers.

Welcome! We look forward to meeting with you and your truck. I have a '93 FZJ80 with almost 200K on the clock. They are great trucks!

Awesome! Thank you. I've been eyeing them for quite a while and I finally had the opportunity to own one.

welcome! our X-mas tree runs are epic or a sunday drive. seems to be very little middle ground on those. you'll have a blast either way. look forward to meeting you all!

Welcome Erich, glad to see you here. I grew up in Reno as well. It'd be good to swap tales over a campfire. Don't forget to post up some pics!

I want in on this action too: The best man at my wedding (and I was at his) grew up in Gardnerville-Minden and now lives in Sacramento.

Dang, that crazy how many people here have ties to Northern Nevada. Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Here are some pictures of Kendra (the Crusher lol).

I can't wait to graduate so I can afford stuff. The only thing that I really need to replace are the birfileds, its only a matter of time before one goes. I'd like to design my own sliders and bumpers, I probably should start saving or thinking about getting a motor or rebuild the one I have. Roof rack, bigger tires, front and rear lockers and different gears, beefier suspension components.

haha, what I would like to do vs. what will actually happen are two very different things and I understand that. I can still dream though! fortunately the wife likes to go wheeling too so hopefully it'll be less painful to ask for forgiveness in the future, when i might have a little spare change. lol

Thankfully people are always upgrading so lots of stuff to be had on the less $$ side.

When the time comes, pull the motor out and tear into it. You might be surprised at how well the bottom end holds up in these things but still may need a slight decking of the block. At that mileage, it makes sense to do "other stuff while you're in there" and then be done with it. Another '94 owner in RR just went through his entire engine so plenty of resources in the area.
