I just got a new project truck. Was going to part it out when I bought it, but the frame is clean and mechanically it's all there.

Looking for some parts:

First and foremost - key and switch. I had one but gave it away. Truck came with a clear title, but no key.

Also need:

Hood, side panels, bib, one stock steel wheel, jack rods, jack spinner handle. Service manual.

Also looking for a 79 and newer gas tank and gas tank straps for another project.

Could also use some jump seats.

Have a WS frame to barter, also have some steel wagon wheels but they don't fit disc wheels.

thanks

Glad to see that you've got another 40.

good deal, hope to see you get this one on the road.

John, I have a bib, side aprons, may have a connection on a hood. I have a lot of pics of stuff in the classifieds. make offers I need this stuff gone. I just stipped my 78 this past weekend. Send me a pm with your Number if intrested. I also have a key and ignition switch, heck I have two extra columns complete...

Anyone have just an ignition key and switch? Of course, I just gave one away a few months ago.

This beast is starting to look more like a parts truck than a resto project. Have to dig a little deeper into it and see how stuff looks. Body is MUCH worse than I thought. I don't think there is a salvageable panel on the truck except for the dash and the WS frame. Have never seen one this rusty. Kinda sad because this truck was really not that bad a few years ago. The only way to get this going would be Aqualu. Would need a cowl and a tub. For that kind of cash I'd probably rather build a 45.

An aquala 45 would be way cooler, and like you said before you could still use it as a truck.

That is kinda what I am thinking. How was the big hunt? Did you bag one?

Give me a call when you get a chance and don't forget to get those boxing gloves next time your over here.

We need pics

Of John and Sam boxing?

Nice to hear that you're back in the cruiser game, John.

I don't know if you this but Sam is a Chuck Norris type and would whip my arse pretty fast. He's also likely to have a knife on him. I'll pass.

x2 I have seen some pretty rusty ones.

I'll take some pics. It's not that it has the biggest rust holes that i've ever seen it's the overall wide spread rust. Amazed the frame is still good. I don't think one panel is worth saving except for the doors and hard top. WS frame is decent too. Rest is HOSED.

Under the hood is nice, motor looks great and is 100 percent there.

Ha, Chuck Norris type. Wish I could grow a beard, but my Filipino heritage denies me this.:grinpimp:

Chuck is in plenty of his movies without a beard!

And yes, pics are always appreciated.

The last 78 I parted, the body was toast but the frame was in excellent condition. It killed me when I cut up the frame and recycled it due to no title and no storage space.

I've been there....ten years ago I got a letter from the county telling me I had 30 days to get rid of 6 parts trucks that I had neatly arranged in a row. Neighbors:rolleyes: The guy who complained had two RVs, four sheds, junk all over the place including his own junk car that had been rusting into the ground for 30 years.

Here are the pics. Truck is not as rusty as I thought at first glance. Floors are solid. This truck is rusty were most are not and not rusty where most are.

Most of the rear floor and front floor are good. Spine is good.

What made it look bad at first is all of the rust on the front end, hood, side panels, bib, etc.

It's a Cream Puff!!!!!

That doesn't look too hateful. Isn't about time for you and your son to get a father/son project going? Get him hooked early.

I've been told that red is the best color, you should keep it just for that.
