I have read and searched but I have not found a thread about what to do when you first buy a used 100.

Carfax had good records so I know it was well cared for.

Here are my thoughts

Change the oil
new air filter
new fuel filter

The ATM fluid looks good and I need to check the diff

What else am I missing

I thought about plugs and wires and maybe the O2 sensors

-Brake fluid bleed (if you don't know when it was last done)
-check brake pad wear

-AHC fluid bleed (if you have AHC suspension)

-grease the drive-line zirks with a grease gun (if you don't know when it was last done)

-change power steering fluid (if you don't know when it was last done)

-cabin air filters (clean or replace)

-clean the throttle body and MAF sensor

-change engine coolant (if you don't know when it was last done)

In my somewhat limited experience, transmission fluid doesn't need to look dark or smell burned to not function as well as fresh fluid. If the history is questionable or unknown, I would add a fluid service (drain/refill) to your list.

What mileage is the vehicle at?

May as well start planning on the next service.

Also, read the 100 series FAQ under Maintenance for more info.

So this is where I am starting

I already replaced the hood struts so the hood will stay up

I am going to do the diffs and t-case with

AMS Oil SEVERE GEAR 75W-90 Synthetic EP Lubricant:

and oil change with

AMS Oil SAE 5W-30 Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil

I will hit all the grease points

Flush the coolant system and replace the Thermostat

I also have to install a brake controller so it will tow my camper.

Up soon with be new ATF fluid and also power steering fluid.

Thanks to everyone

These are all mileage and vehicle history dependent. But things I did when I acquired my 168k mile 100:
Repack front wheel bearings
Replace starter contacts
Replace Ignition lock cylinder
Replace radiator cap
Replace Heater Hose T-Connectors
You could Sea Foam the intake and Gas tank too
Check ball joints, tie rods and bushings
Grease driveline
Check battery condition/maintenance charge it.

I'd leave the ATF alone if there's nothing wrong with it.
