New to LC's - Tampa/St. Pete

Hello everyone,

I am purchasing a 96 Land Cruiser on Friday - couldn't be more excited! I am spending endless hours browsing here on Mud. I am wondering if there are any Toyota/Land Cruiser people in the Tampa/St. Pete area? I am located in downtown St. Pete, and my friend who lives here in town has a new Tacoma. We both hope to get involved with some local people to meet up and learn more about our trucks! Especially myself, as I intend to start doing maintenance to my new rig and I'm a pretty big noob when it comes to Toyotas!

I do roam in that area as well (St Pete has some of the best brew pubs around!).

Yeah it does! I used to work at Redlight Redlight in Orlando. One of the best beer bars ever!

Im the friend with Tacoma. I have a feeling I am going to end up in an LC sooner or later. Lets get a monthly meet or something going.

Welcome!! I'm in St Pete too. Once in a while we get together for a meet and greet. We are about due for one. Probably in a couple of months when the weather starts to get a little cooler. Keep checking in here.

Sorry, don't know any shops to recommend. Not really any Cruiser friendly shops in town.

Couple of months!? I can take the heat! We should organize something out by the Vinoy or North Shore park or something

North Shore would be a nice location, but there isn't that many of us in St Pete. There are more cruiserheads in Tampa. If we met closer to Tampa it might be better attended.

We have met at Gandy Beach before. We've had difficulty in the past pulling of a local weekend meet because it seems lots of people have other plans. An evening might work out well. It would be nice to get some people out of the woodwork.

Meeting more towards Tampa is fine with me... I don't mind driving. Maybe an evening weekday meet sometime soon is an idea?
