Hello all,
Been around the Toyota/Lexus family for years - on the truck side a Tacoma and a couple of 4Runners. Wife is currently driving a 2014 FJ Cruiser. We have owned a couple of different year MR2s, I think 3 Camrys, a Lexus ES, ...
Been looking on the site for a while now trying to decide between an 80 and a 100 series LC when what I considered a pretty good deal emerged on a 2000 LX. PO doesn't take good car of his cars - as witnessed by the newer LX he is now driving. Everything seems to be working on the vehicle I bought - issues are what I consider cosmetic (seat leather cracked, radio antenna dead and bumpers scuffed). Some surface rust on the frame, but the other panels seem in good shape - no visible body rust. Engine very smooth, A/C works great, no active diagnostics codes, hoses look good, belt replaced not long ago, etc. The LX I bought has 218K miles and I paid $4K. I bought the LX470 for two reasons, a fun vehicle (my daily driver - and I put on a good bit of miles- is a Prius), and as a project car (tinkering keeps me out of most trouble).
Living in Florida it's highly unlikely I'll build a Rubicon challenge machine, but I still hope to learn enough that some day I will help the newbies like many of you have done for me (as I read through the pages here).
If you read this far, thanks for your patience.
Lee
