Saw those yesterday on my trip out of town to and a stop to wally world.
The Authoritys are walmart specific
Cambodian tire has good year wrangler territories.

I am currently using those tires studded for my winters. Great tires in the 235 85/16 size

Its their own model of tire mocking the duratrac.

Goodyear Wrangler Authority A/T's

I've been reading the comments on the GY Authority A/T's. Ran into a guy at Wally World I used to work with years ago. Didn't know he had been at the Wally tire dept for the last 8 years. Shot straight from the hip with me about the tires as making a sale on any particular tire really doesn't benefit him. Said these tires are hard to keep on the shelf. Most Jeep owners buy them along with SUV's and light trucks coming in second. Said of all they've sold, 2 have come back with sidewall blow outs but they were on 3/4 or 1 ton trucks. Seem to be a take off of the GY Dura Trac. I read a lot of reviews on the Dura Trac and noticed a lot of comments on managing the tire pressure. More than just the routine pressure checks, does anyone have any ideas on this??? Run a bit more pressure or less?? I'm going to put 265/75R/16 C's on my Toyota Tacoma Prerunner (reg cab) and 265/75R/16 E's on the 97 F-150. Any advice on air pressure management??
Also someone mentioned they got better gas mileage. Didn't expect to hear that on a more aggressive tread.

Tires

We got a set of 31s of the goodyear authority on our 94 jeep wrangler. They have been excellent every where we've pointed them too since we've had them. Much better than the crappy bfg all terrains we had on before. The authorities are great in mud and sand, they dig, bite, claw into the ground and power us through the toughest mud holes. When we first got them in february, we took them out on the mud and were a little disappointed because they werent cleaning out the mud like we thought, but once we got about 500 miles on them now, the lugs have opened up a little, and the mud cleans right out. i would recommend this tire to anybody.

cooper stt is a much better pick.True MT, quiter than the wally tire, comes in a 285 and can be had for around $180. This tire is awsome in the snow and mud!

The goodyears have much more siping, probably much better in winter conditions.

I do like the STT's though, just put 1000 studs in a set of them on a friends cruiser.

Wrangler territory is also available in canada, slightly better than the authority and studdable. But I still went with the duratracs.

The kids at walmart havent got a clue...One problem, now my brake pedal is pulsing a little bit when I use the brake, This would be from the balancing being off, Right?

There's an outside possibility that the rotors are slightly warped if the lug nuts were over-torqued or if the rim and rotor faces were not brushed clean of rust and dirt before reassembly.

I buy my Mobil 1 there. Do you think they formulate it differently for Wal-Mart?

I emailed Mobil tech support with this question - the rep replied that the formula is the same as that sold elsewhere.

This is typically NOT a good thing. Made for Wal-Mart = made cheaper so Wal-Mart can undersell the competition. I try to avoid any product specifically made for Wal-Mart.

X2. If Goodyear isn't proud enough to put this tire on their website, I would probably avoid it.

The purpose for the lack of advertising is to keep the price low as possible.

These tires run $130 each (31x10.5-15) and a comparable tire runs about $180.

I have had nothing go wrong with mine, and I have had mine off-road, cross country, and over 20,000 miles.

As I said before, I plan to buy a set for my Suburban.

just a quick reply if this has been mentioned i apologize
if you are considering Good year tires you should look at becomign a tread lightly member for a 25$ membership goodyear will send you a 100$ tire voucher when you buy four wrangler tires.

so 25$ going to a very good cause saves you 75$ immediately if you want tires. there are also a thousand other good reasons to join... but thats a different thread.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Hopefully Discount Tire will get more 315 Duratracs in stock before the 12/31/10 deadline so I can take advantage of the offer.

Here's the link to the offer,

I checked on this with the Tread Lightly people and the Goodyear rebate center. According to them, vouchers and other rebates do not apply to tires bought from Walmart or Sams Club.

4wheelparts are at $700 mounted, balanced and tax on the Duratrac 31 10.5 r15, with the $75, Im at $625 vs $560 for the Authorities at Walmart. Seems smart to spend the $65 and get the Duratracs.

Maybe not "chunks" but I see damage also. MICHELIN I love you, make a mud tire already.

Just wanted to say Thanks for posting the pics of the Wrangler Authority Tires on a vehicle! Looks great! I was in WalMart a few days ago and saw that tire. It looks really good! (the following is for the posters with skeptical views on the tire): I am sure Wal Mart will take care of any issues with that tire if there are any. I will just hang on to my receipt and it will be just fine..... I am gonna' buy the Wrangler Authority tires for my 1989 4x4 Dodge Ramcharger that I just bought !!!

I got this Goodrich rugged terrain for $143 and they shipped free to the local installer (LA area) that you can pick at their web site. Their prices are at least $30 cheaper per tire than Costco or Sam club.:)
