Are there any tire store chains that tend to be more accommodating when trading-in new tires towards a different set? Have a LCH with the stock 285/60's and less than 500 miles. Live in a remote area of Mass. so Craigslist is not a great option. New member, sorry if redundant.

I’ve had luck trading tires in at discount tire but I didn’t get top dollar from them. Selling them outright I would have done better but if that’s not an option for you I’d call around your local shops and see what they would offer.

Welcome......

don't expect to get much from your stock tires..even w/500 miles....

Tire stores wanna sell new tires (wheels)

Inquire at the store...but again...maybe $40-50 a pop...

Watch Discount Tire Veterans sale coming soon..

U keeping OEM wheels.....?

Craig's List........never too many positive stories

I'm 2 hrs from anything myself.....but that's fine

I sold my Grandtrek w/ a couple thousand miles on craigslist for $200. I was happy.

Hopefully you could get something from a tire shop, especially if you are buying a new set from them.

Worst case you could ship them. Don't need a box, just tape a shipping label on them.

For my needs, the Grandtreks are fine. I'm approaching 30K on my 2018 LC and am starting to think replacement. If you'll consider the hassle of shipping maybe we can reach a deal. Will send a PM...

Appreciate that. Incredible how quickly they lose value.

Love that you can just wrap some packaging tape around them, slap a label on, and drop them at fedex.

Yes.......but......

As with UPS...the will be an 'irregular' & get charged $5-10 extra each in addition to the weight

I'm retired from UPS so familiar with the rules/rates

Sell local...used tires aren't worth shipping

I sold my 5 OEM GX wheels & tires & lug nuts (50% tread) for $300

Just glad to get them out of the way

Did they do a an alignment with only 1000 miles on your new LC or just put the new tires on and go? And what new tires did you pick?

Just sold my Grandtreks yesterday off craigslist for $450. They had about 5000 miles on them. Looks like i was pretty fortunate. Glad i didnt come across this thread earlier - probably wouldve cut my asking price in half.

No alignment done nor needed IMO. Discount Tire did balance and road force the BFG KO2. I got BFG KO2 in stock size (285/60/18 Load Range D).

I listed my Grandtreks for months and months a couple of years ago.
Finally just dumped them for $100 for the set. They had like 2500 miles on them. There was very little to no interest in them.

I am taking a set off my other 200 on Monday that probably have 15K miles on them and just plan on telling the place to keep them and do whatever they want with them.

I also am in fairly rural Maine so not much demand here.

Really appreciate all the feedback. Will update with price once I trade in.
