Now I need to fab up the front towers, and lower mounts.

yeah, I can't wait to mount the fronts! I was due....err.... OVERDUE for shocks.
and yeah, there's plenty of spline down inside the slip yoke. That was a double cardan tom woods shaft, but I had driveline and gear services take out the front CV joint and put in a standard u jount.
What shocks are you running, Dan?
thanks man! I went with 360/80 up front, and 400/100 in the rear. A lot of other guys said the 360/80 up front works well.
I've heard mixed opinion about the heims. Some say they've lasted years for them, while others replaced them. I figured I'll give them a try and see what happens!
Ive great things about both. Some say it's easier to find parts for the Fox's, but that's just what I've heard...
Does anyone know of a place in town that can charge these if I need to take them apart?
You are probably using a 1/2" bolt and the ID of the heims is probably 12mm or some such metric thing. Annoying isn't it?
For a cheap, easy bump stop - grab one of the older bushing from the "stud" end of the old shock, cut it and then slip it over the bilstein shaft and then electrical tape around the cut bushing. Done.
I had a thought about this today. Get yourself some brass shim stock and wrap the bolt to get a tight fit.Cool. I was considering a set of bump stops that mount on the shaft of the shock per advice of some guys on Pirate. THat's why I was concerned about the recharge. I don't want to dismantle my brand new shocks for some bump stops...
Drove the truck today and there's a huge difference even with just the rears one. Can't wait to get the fronts fabbed up and installed. There's one thing I notced about the heims though. If the bolt isn't a tight fit in the heim, it can click and get really annoying. I'm going to swap out the bolts for some brand new ones and see if that quites them up. The bolts in there now are just a hair smaller....

If you want to be red neck you can use a PBR can.
