New sending unit, fuel light doesn’t work (1 Viewer)

Last weekend I replaced the fuel sending unit on my 2006 LC because the gauge was inaccurate and the fuel light was almost always on. Used OEM part. Gauge looks to be accurate now but I noticed the low fuel light didn’t come when the needle on the gauge was almost completely on E and the digital display read 14 miles left. Any ideas on troubleshooting?

My guess is it is not low enough to trigger the light. You can carry 5 gallons of gas and keep driving it until the light is on or engine stalls.

Across my 3, each has its own “personality” on the gas warning light, and when it comes on. My 06 LX I’ve only seen a few times in the last 17 years, and the needle is below “E”. Our 99 LX starts at about 1/8 a tank, I take it a little less seriously than the 06 LX.
