Finally got around to posting this up.
Had a 92 22RE 2wd truck fall into my lap recently. Current plan is to get it running and repaint/fix it.
Price was right = free
Been in my family for damn close to 15 years. Had a tree fall on it about 5 years ago at my parents lake house (also fell on the boat which took most of the impact)
Got a large dent in the roof which also hit the structural support (pounding this out will be fun)
It sat at the lake for about 2 1/2 years when my brother in law took it to his house to swap the bed (because it was in better shape) and the interior because he liked the color better and put them on his 92 4wd.

Sat there another 2 1/2 years until I finally hauled it home, with Brett's help, a few weeks ago.

Plan, fix it, sell my ranger (since this has more room being an extd cab) and dd this till I get out of college and get some $$$ with a better job.
Then convert to a solid front 4wd monster.

Here are the pics

Greg I know you are going to ask but I must say no I won't trade you 92 Pick ups :flipoff2:

The thing had a tune up literally 2 days before it was hit by the tree. The wires, air filter, cap and rotor look brand new. Changed the plugs and fuel filter last weekend (that fuel filter is in the dumbest place I have ever seen WTF was Mr T thinking.)

I also a few weeks ago drained all the old gas, put in new gas with some HEET and octane booster.

Currently won't start but will run for a few seconds on starter fluid. Got to see if the fuel pump isn't working or the injectors are gummed up.

One day it will look something like this.

One thing I do need that I am missing is the rear glass, it went missing some how.

Build to 4wd might, hopefully, start around the holidays. Should be done with one degree in the August. Hopefully a job with more $$$ will follow and then I re-enroll for the masters program.

Al, I wouldn't worry about painting it until you are done building it. Save the money for the build...you might not have the bed so no need to waste it. Also I'm guessing you have some gummed up injectors or fuel pick up. That is just the right amount of time for untreated gas to start gumming up. Especially if it is running on starter fluid.

I hope you can get this thing up and running quick so you can ditch the Ranger and keep the LC.

Nah it is getting rattled canned canary red in the bed. No way i'm going to DD the multicolored truck :grinpimp:

I'd wheel it like that but for the year or so it will be 2wd and a DD it's going to have to look a little less ghetto...... Or the wife won't let me park it in the driveway.

Nice to see it posted up! Looking forward to the evolution...hope I can help and learn somethings along the way.

Al, I have a split window rear glass and seal if you could use it, not sure what they are worth.

That would be great. I'll grab them off of you when everything else is done.

You want to get together for a beer or some wheeling sometime this weekend.

My 84 Celica had a 22RE. I even helped my mechanic friend do some work on it. Of course that was forever ago, but if you need any help I could always stand around and hold your beer :hillbilly:.

If it wasn't zero degrees in my garage I would be out there jumping some terminals to see if I can get it to run.

I found someone on TTORA that is going to send me his spare set of injectors to borrow and see if that is the problem.

Thanks for the offer but a bit of a drive

Due to the fact that I am still working 50 hours a week and going to school full time, it occured to me that it'll be a year till I get anywork done on this. So i'm going to take out the engine, tranny and some other parts. Anyone need a 22RE with 157k on it??

i hear on on OT and Full time student, im on constant OT on 4hrs of sleep goin on 4 months. sux

Yeah I hear you on the lack of sleep stuff.

I think someone in the club is going to grab it off of me so at least it will stay in the club.
