Thanks for the compliments guys. It was really good to work with Jerry - we caught each other about to make several mistakes, two sets of eyes are much better than one - plus Jerry has wicked toys!!

Of course you can show your guy what we did. Jerry plans to use this design on his 45 eventually, so we were marking off templates as we went for most everything. Mainly the A-B Pillar ties.

Thanks and doing a project like this with Ramon is why I enjoy doing them. I learn something new about how to use the bender and copy the design for further personal use. Win-win in my book.

The first piece bent up didn't go as planned, the bender couldn't make the bends tight enough. Then Ramon turns it around and we figure out how to use the bends, saving the piece of tubing and comes up with the final design for connecting the sides. Once we fine tuned the first side, make side 2 the same. Very happy with how well it came out and fit inside the cab, will surely have similar in my 45...some day...

Regarding moving the rear cross-brace...its a good time. I do have some 2 x 2 square tubing that might make a brace like the one you made for the front, drop off the rear. If we need to adjust/re-notch anything, its still set up on the bench. Couple pics I took with my phone...

We wanted to kick it down to keep it low for less chance of tripping on when exiting/entering the rig...

I cut a piece of plate to allow mounting of the center console as well as provide some increased rigidity/support. I cut it long so Ramon could decide to mount it flush with the top of the tubing or inside/below the top of the tubing, if that makes sense...

Hey, thanks Jerry. I'm going to have to step back and reload until next week. Fishing this weekend and headed down east this evening. I'll give you a holla' once I get next steps figured out.

Started fabbing up the rear mounts tonight. Started with 2" square stock.

Got a little grinder happy here in one spot, but nothing the welder can't bridge over:

About 1/3 of the way done with these, and have finished up the front mounts. Once I get everything tacked in good, may ask if someone (maybe couple of folks) could swing by one evening to help me remove the hardtop and pull the cage out so I can finish weld everything.

Fab work done - well, 95% anyway. Time to remove cage from Dozer for finish welding and paint.

This is a plate I built to support the rear crossbar in the middle as well as a mounting point for the 3-point harnesses (lap belt on one side).

First - thanks to Johnny for helping muscle the cage out of Dozer so I could work in the garage over this rainy period.

Second, big thanks for Jerry for slapping some dimples in the sheet metal plate pictured below:

Now, updated pics:

You get that thing all welded up yet?

Indeed... well, for the most part anyway. I have to cut the old seatbelt mounts off to get to the top of the A-B pillar ties for welding. That needs to happen anyway. Also, have another idea I'm going to knock out while she's out too, which works out since It'll be raining the next couple of days.

You available after work on Thursday to help put this puppy back in? Could really use 1 more "volunteer" to help with some muscle - this bad boy was all Monster Johnny and I could handle in flip flops :D

Yup, Thursday works for me!

That cage is pretty heavy when you have to hold it at full arm extension above your head to clear the tire carrier:lol:

What time are you thinking on thu?

I get outta work at 5ish, so unless Ramon has something else planned, then somewhere between 5:30 and 6?
