The one thing I liked about the old board, was the new posts remained new posts until you viewed the individual post. Now if you view the 80's forum, for example, and look at one of 20 new thread posts and leave, when you come back it shows as though you have already read all those other threads as well
The way it worked on the old system, it would keep the "new post" icon until you read the individual thread, which is nice when you don't have a lot of time, check a specific thread, and then want to come back later and see the rest of the new posts and not miss anything along the way.
Will it ever go back to the old way or is this a permanent change?

Other than that I love the new format! :)

part of the vBulletiin method of dealing with cookies, however a common gripe on their forum and something they are working to change. I know it ticks me off too, but no hack-repair as of yet.

I was wondering if this was going on. I didn't think I read all those posts.

I always have trouble keeping up, now I'll never know how far behind I am.

but this is bonus...

I could be wrong but when in a thread and someone posts a reply to the thread.. it seems to update the NEW indicator. But wait that's not possible with out a refresh (or is it???). Maybe be happening.. I thought I saw that tonight.. cool if it is.

and other wierd stuff

Around the house I switch computers a lot.... the NEW indicator must really be cookie based because if I come back using a different PC then I see NEWs for the threads I just read on the other puter.. wierd... and different from the old site... no biggy... but interesting.

I am getting used to the new format and it's cool Woody.... Thanks!

It's more than just new computers. I just left the forum and returned, and posts that I had read, had been labelled "NEW" and which had lost the NEW label (this post, for instance!), somehow reaquired that label when I came back into the forum!
