This the one that was for sale in Lynnwood? Did you happen to do PPI on it? I did some research on it and the engine was overheated. Completely out of coolant at one point in its life.

Well that’s not fun to hear.

I did PPI and researched as best I could, saw/heard nothing like that. I’ll PM you for more info if you don’t mind.

I did a Duckduckgo search on the VIN and came across some posts with carfax or service history posts.

It could be nothing but it was enough to deter me personally since I already have an LC and was thinking about this as second.

Installed later in the vehicle's life - I want to say when the vehicle had around 165K. I'm not sure of total mileage on it to be honest; I don't remember if what the PO told me. Zero issues so far in the 3 years / 30K I've put on the vehicle.

There's a good testament to 2UZ durability. At a mileage amount that has many/most cars near the end of their usable life, the PO threw on some forced induction and the vehicle is still reliable.

Interesting. Now I see your previous post with additional info you got searching Toyota database.

Guess I am stuck with it, although I am reassured that this event was over 10 years ago and 80k miles now and there do not seem to have been any issues or problems as a result. On the flip side, good to see confirmation that the more complete 90k service was in fact done (car did have a timing belt sticker, but wasn't sure about water pump etc.)

The mileage and date of the occurrence were what I was going to ask. Given what you posted, I wouldn't sweat this. That is a lot of time and miles for an issue to show up. A supercharged 100 series seems like a good problem to be stuck with.

Absolutely. Vehicle is sitting at 215K right now and has been extremely reliable - running up and down the front range, 2 hundreds in the hills events, etc. My maintenance issues have all been normal wear and tear, the biggest/most costly being a new steering rack and a new starter (SC will add labor to this job). Can't really complain about an OEM steering rack giving out at 200k though.

There is definitely reassurance in it going another 80k over 10 years! I hope it wasn't a big issue and the LC gives you nothing but joy :)

I'm actually in the Lynnwood area myself. My TLC is unfortunately going under the knife after an unfortunate CV failure followed by imbecile tow truck driver rolling it down a hill....

I should be back on the road in the next couple of weeks. Good group of us here that try to get onto the trails fairly often.

Good to hear a similar opinion. I've put a little over 400 miles on it so far and I don't see any drop in coolant, performance issues, oil issues, etc. Runs perfectly smooth. Exhaust is clean. So I'm thinking whatever happened didn't have lasting repercussions.

Definitely don't like the nav/climate control. Also discovered the 6 disc changer doesn't work--the cassette won't eject. What am I supposed to do, go buy a bunch of tapes?

So I installed the BT45-TOY for now. Note that I did not need the "required" supplementary CAS-TLC cable. I presume that cable is so that you can preserve function of your CD changer, but since mine doesn't work anyway, its a non-issue.

Will be hunting for parts to convert to non-Nav + double DIN stereo with backup cam. Anybody got something they want to sell???

Install this; 2001-2009 Lexus Bluetooth Factory Radio Adapter | VAIS Technology

Audio problem solved.

I wouldn't hesitate one bit with the mileage you're at. Mines much higher with supercharger and I still drive it with a heavy foot regularly!

Do you have the 9th injector? my mpg is quite a bit worse than yours sadly but I have seen it that high one time on a trip through Oregon going about 55/65mph.

or you could put a Raptor sticker on your super duty like this one at Costco
