Hey all, I just purchased a 2001 LC with 209,900 on the clock, and am very excited to join the ranks of UJZ100 lovers across the globe.

My previous car was a Mustang (2013, V6 Manual, Pony Package) and while I loved that car I drove it so little that it made sense to move on to something I could use more often. Deciding on what to replace the Mustang with took me a good 6 months once I had decided to move on. The needs list wasn't particularly long; durable with low maintenance costs, plenty of interior space for kids/gear/random house project materials, and good offroad capability for use in the Colorado mountains.

I caught sight of the LC/LX470 a while ago and quickly realized it would do everything I needed and not much I didn't. Plus I've thought the 100's were achingly cool for a long time anyway. I considered 4Runners, GX470's, even a Nissan Pathfinder. The LC kept standing out as my very best option. The tough part was finding one I could handle comfortably financially. These things hold their value hilariously well, especially where I live. In the Denver area I routinely see high-mileage, clean 100's pushing $10k for the 2000-2002, and double that for the 2005+.

When I saw the 2001 with 209,900 for $8k, I had to see it. This sucker was ideal for me; not in the best shape cosmetically, but nothing bad about it and the mechanicals all appear to be in very good shape. The PO had the oil changed on time with synthetic, recently had the diff fluids changed, timing belt was done 50k miles ago, and a number of other things. Not a lot that needs attention mechanically. All that and he was willing to let me have it for $7200.

I'll put together a newbie "build" thread once I've had time to go over everything and decide what I want to tackle. Probably the first thing is the heater tee's, and the seats need a thorough cleaning and conditioning as well as an overall interior cleaning. I'm not going for a real offroad build but I'd love to get this LC up to a level of quality I think it deserves and give it another 20 years of life in the process.

My 01 also had 209k when I bought it , I was worried about the mileage but through this community and just driving it, I found the mileage is no problem on these rigs. Sounds like you got a great deal, congrats !!
