Comes out of a 1997 LX450 with 178,XXX miles on it.
I'm selling the engine because I'm doing an LS conversion.
Engine overheated due to electrolytic rust in the cooling system. It's possible it could be flushed and put into service again IDK? It ran reliably other than that. I initially thought the head gasket blew until I drained the oil and there was no water/coolant in it.
Comes with auto trans and all accessories.
asking $1000
EDIT: I've been asked to provide more details. I was not the person driving the car when it overheated. It was my mom's car and she was driving it at the time. She pulled over on the freeway when she noticed steam coming from under the hood. I have no idea how long she was driving it when it overheated. It was towed to her house and I was able to start the car and drive it into the garage (I only ran it long enough to bring it into the garage). If I had not known it had overheated I would have not have suspected anything was wrong with the engine. I suspected a blown head gasket since it is a somewhat known issue. I checked the dipstick expecting to see the telltale "chocolate milk" but I found only oil. Then I thought it may be a stuck thermostat and began to investigate that. When I removed the lower radiator hose, a reddish brown mud-like fluid came spilling out. Removing the thermostat revealed more mud-like fluid and flakes of rust. Removing and flushing the radiator with the garden hose produced copious amounts of that rusty mud-like water. It was then my mom gave up on the car and got a used RX300. I have since taken the car off my mom's hands and decided to LS swap it. I have not added any engine block sealer, I just pulled the motor out.
