The new muffler is 2.5" OD in and out, as the other poster said. However, the stock pipe looks like it's 2.25" OD where it meets the muffler.

Was there any fitment issues then? i'm assuming not. I'm highly considering getting this. hmmm... Never had an aftermarket muffler for anything i've driven. This will be a first. So you said that it was loud at first then quieted down... do you think that perhaps you just got used to it? How does it sound at cruising speed? highway? I'm assuming it's loud at WOT right?

Here is my exhaust. It shows the adapter I made to fit the ID of the muffler and over the stock pipe. IIRC, the stock pipe had an OD of 2.35"? There are also some videos of how it sounds. I know it is a flowmaster but it should sound very similar. I was very surprised that it was not louder than it is. The 100 is much quieter on the inside. I would definitely suggest this type of muffler (magna flow, flowmaster, etc) it will not be obnoxious and will sound very nice but not quite mellow.

Yes, there will be fitment issues. The guy I had do mine is a one-man band who does this for a living & he's done many of my exhausts. You have to weld a Magnaflow on & the OD on stock is smaller than the ID on the next biggest Magnaflow (just under 2.45"), so you need to make up that gap in weld.

My 18" muffler needed an approximate 4" piece of tubing to fill the gap to meet up with the stock pipe.

As far as sound, it softened afterwards...it took an hour or two of driving, but it definitely quited down a bit. It's more a mellow V8 sound at low rpm's... at high rpm's, it's hard to notice a difference from inside the cab w/the windows up. It's not like glass packs where it gets louder at high rpm's...mine isn't as noticeable then.

Hope this helps.

Spresso has a 24" muffler... Sixgunz has an 18. I don't know if either of you have heard what the other sized muffler sounds like, but logically, would the 24 be not as loud as the 18?

Another question that i have... the resonator is the can at the rear behind the first can which is the muffler?

yes...resonator is just behind bumper before tail pipe....muffler is next one up that has heat shield over it.....and Cat is in front of that.

Found answer...
