My engine now has approx. 2500 miles on it and is using 1 quart of oil per tank of gas. Compression is at 120 in all cylinders. I keep getting conflicting opinions on how many miles it takes for cast rings to seat. Any comments, suggestions, or past experiences would be appreciated .

Well IMHO something is wrong. I would guess that the wrong break in oil was used - needs to be non-detergent. Or they didn't scuff the bores deep enough, wrong or bad rings fit. Do a dry/wet compression test. A leak down test would be a good plan too.

They used Driven break in oil. As far as I know that is one of the best.

Ok, that appears to be a correct oil. So you should do those compression tests to help sort out the issue from rings vs valves. A borescope to look at the cylinder threw the spark plug holes. I just got a cheap $30 one on Amoron - there are way better ones for a little more money.

Compression appears low to me - rings not seated more likely than all the valve seats are weak/bad plus issues with valve stem seals allowing oil consumption. Check your valve lash while you are at it. I set mine on the loose side - better to hear them than to burn them. What pistons did they use - maybe some low compression ones for turbo/supercharged race tractors.

I'd be asking the people who did the work - that amount of oil consumption and low compression with 2500 miles on the clock isn't right. If they try and tell you its normal then I say they owe you a kiss after being screwed.

Have we spoken? It seems to me that I spoke with someone about two weeks ago who had an ace rebuilder in AZ do an engine that wasn’t pulling enough vacuum to make the carburetor work properly. 🤔

Thanks for your input. I do have a bore scope and will try to see what I can see down inside the cylinder. I am going to request that they do a compression test in my presence and then I can confirm the 120 that I came up with. I don’t pretend to be an expert in this. I see to know just enough to be dangerous if you know what I mean.

Best of luck - I think they owe you some service to show you they did it right. I'm not an expert either, but I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday either.

I had some eye testing done last week. I think I have been there 30 or more times in the last 15 years without issues. This last time I wake with sore eyes. I get a e-survey about how did we do? I fill it out telling them about my issues. I tried regular eye drops, no relief, then colloidal silver drops - no real improvement so I break out the Tobradex - instantly eyes start feeling better. A few days on the good stuff - eyes back to 100%. I called them several times and got no where, so today I typed them a letter stating my issues and displeasure with their answering system. Plus I penned in that I had never got a survey from them before - so maybe they know there was some issue with the eye drugs or equipment they used during that visit that was different than that used in all my previous unevential visits. At this point in time I'm not interested in going back next year. And if I do then I want the lot numbers from the drugs and they will be disinfecting the eye pressure probe in front of me.
