Hello: My name is John and I just joined the forum today. For many years beginning in 89, I had Toyota 4Runners, the last one being the 85 with the solid front axle. I had it for 9 years, fixing it up and then last summer, someone told me what these were selling for. Since I was pretty much done with it, I sold it and a few days later I purchased a 2000 Landcruiser. One of my good friends had a 2000 and I rode with him up and back to Idaho, and I was impressed with it, so I picked the 2000 for my purchase. Since last summer I have been going through it fixing things that needed fixing and right now it's pretty close to perfect.
This morning I discovered a problem that I have no solution for, so I decided to join the IH8MUD site to gain access to some expertise.
I live here in SoCal, but have no plans to off road it as most of my off-roading was done during the 70's and 80's with dirt bikes and dune buggies. With the cost of gas today, I'm content to drive it locally. I just like working on vehicles and making them better.
So with that, I'll sign off and pursue my problem another time. I look forward to communicating with other members who share the love of the Landcruiser.

Thx
John
