Hi all,
I'm the new owner of a 70' FJ40. I used to have a FJ Cruiser years ago. I'd like to get out on the trail with you all but have one problem.
I took the FJ40 out this weekend and the front drive shaft came unbolted at the transfer case. Funny thing is that the shaft did not break. It was just improperly tightened from the previous owner. Well, when it came unbolted it swung around and hit the 4wd selector shaft on the front output. It broke it clean off the output and now I have a nice hole in the front output housing where it used to be. I need to find the parts and a mechanic to put it all back together. I was told it's a drive line from a '78 model. It has a 4-speed transfer case - non split case. Any help would be appreciated.
Looking forward to hitting the trails with you all.
Thanks,
James
