Thanks for allowing me to join the forum. Looks like an amazing place for all the info I could ever hope for and maybe I can add something too from what I’ve learnt along the way.

I’m running a 1994 80 Amazon VX Auto with the 12v 4.2l diesel 1HDT motor and 3 oem factory lockers. Have owned the truck for the last 13 years after a mk2 Hilux single cab and a Mk4 Hilux crew. Love the LC as it is just better in every way and has done everything asked of it, from taking the family into the Arctic Circle in the winter (-30deg) to towing the caravan on holidays. Also used for work and fun days in the mud as part of a 4x4 volunteer group.

It’s got a full history with 176k miles on the clock. All pretty standard bar a 2” Ironman lift and shocks and running 285/75 rubber.

A very rare sight in the U.K. I know of only one other in my town. Running gear/service parts are not too bad to get but trim etc almost impossible. Very envious of you chaps in Oz with all the aftermarket spares. I’m in desperate need for stuff like window channel rubbers etc which you can’t get here.

Major work done:
Crank Bearing shells
Front axle rebuild (needs another)
Engine mounts
Timing kit & waterpump
New rad & pipes
Plenty of body work fighting the tin worm.
Plus lots of little jobs along the way.

See you in the forum. Will post a pic soon. Toodle pip.

Email Dave Stedman at Japan4x4. He can get 80 series parts for you from Toyota at very good prices.

Welcome!

Another source of or parts, if you can get them in UK, is www.partsouq.com

They are UAE. They are very competitive for rubber parts. It is also a good resource to find part numbers so you can online shop.

Looking forward to pics.

Welcome to the chaos mate. Partsouq is very good. I can get parts cheaper from UAE than most sources state side, that including the shipping; which is fantastic. Order on Thursday, have parts by the next Wednesday.
