Hey mudders,

Recently purchased a 100 4.2TD mildly setup. Looking improve on existing mods and turn her into the perfect expo/touring machine.

Previous Ride was an 05 Navara/Frontier. It was a great beast, travelling pretty much the whole east side of Australia.

As purchased Cruiser has:

ARB Bullbar
Warn Winch
Sliders
Kaymar Dual Tyre carrier/rear bar
Roof Rack
Triple batteries under bonnet (more on this later)
Cargo Barrier
Rear Draws
Arb Air locker rear
ARB Compressor (mounted under bonnet)
2" OME Lift
Safari Snorkel

So Far I've added
60l Engle Fridge
but Plenty more to come...

1st Trip was a 4000km (2500mile) journey from my home Airlie Beach to Darwin. Visited some great places, here's some pics

Northern Tablelands - 1 month after some rain. Plenty of feed but its all browned off

The road less travelled (between Cloncurry and Mt Isa

Sunsets can be spectacular

Camp for the night

(state) Boarder crossing

1st Flat

What a spot to get a flat, shame it was 40deg C in the shade.

Old stone wall with rail running on top (circa 1850)

Another Sunset over rock formation (Devils Marbles)

Interested to read about that triple battery setup. Subscribed and welcome to MUD!

The TD's over here come with 2 batteries as std. Just gotta work out if I can isolate it to a main + aux. Has 3rd battery under the bonnet as well, but me thinks either the battery is stuffed, has insufficient cable diameter or earthing, as the voltage drops from 12.7 down to 12.0 when the fridge is running. (Only drawing 4amps)

I have a 120a/h agm from my old car but dont think it will fit under the bonnet. Idealy would like 200a/h capacity with a 200w solar panel. That should last a long time even without running the engine.

Got any pics under the hood of the batteries? I'd love to see how you managed to squeeze them in.

These photos you Oz folk post are borderline cruel. Vista views? Open roads with no traffic? Damn you to hell...
