I've been lurking around here for the last month after purchasing my 2005 black LC with 150,000 miles. I got a really fair price knowing I had to do the timing belt. super clean suburban cruiser that doesn't seem to have seen a dirt road in it's ten years. This truck is a great upgrade from my much loved but funky Fj Cruiser
Immediately removed the running boards and put on 285/65/18 Toyo AT II's
Timing belt and water pump are now done and I think I'm going to go for the OME 1.5" medium suspension to firm up the ride.
I live in northern CA and do a lot of trips to the desert and some moderate stuff up in the sierra... can't wait for it's inaugural Death valley trip.

Thanks for all the helpful info on here! Great forum!

I need a few more posts until it will let me upload some pics but I will as soon as I can... I'm currently in Sacramento

Welcome! I could hook you up on a front bumper when your ready:) I'm also in NorCal. Just got back from a high rock canyon trip. What parts of the desert do you like to visit?

Congrats. How are those Toyos working out? I think I've decided on getting a set.

I'm really happy with he Toyo's so far. I have the "extreme" version because that's what come's in the size that I chose. Love the look of them but I was worried that they would be noisy highway driving they're actually pretty quiet. They are E rated and I definitely notice the extra stiffness but I don't mind it.

Good to hear. Noise was my primary concern, everything else seems great about them. My mom has the old AT, and it's not terribly louder than Michelin m/s currently on mine (but it's a very quiet tire). I'll post up a review of them when I get them, I didn't see a ton of information on them regarding off-road performance when researching.
